I would highly recommend Dr.Alvernia for any surgical needs. Before surgery on my lumbar spine, I couldn't walk without help and I am a very active lady, caring for special needs children. I had a L4-L5 fusion by Alvernia due to disk herniation.I went to LA pain care for a year prior to surgery and they DID NOT WORK!After my first encounter with Alvernia, I was in the operating room within 3 weeks. You couldn't ask for a better person as a surgeon and the staff(Janelle and Courtney) are wonderful

Previously had 2 lamenectomies with the last being 20 years ago, when I was told by a neurosurgeon that due to scar tissue & arthritis I would need another surgery before age 62. I toughed it out until age 68. When I went to Dr. Alvernia, I was not able to stand longer than 10 mins. Postop 1 mth w/ lumbar fusion. Cannot express my graditude to him for the great job he did. Walking, ADLs, restful sleeping and all without PAIN. Highly Recommend him & his surgical skills to all w/back pain. Thx.

I had carpal tunnel surgery at Monroe surgical and it was all a pleasant experience. My had had healed quickly with minimal scarring. I am getting my strength back quickly and Dr. Alvernia is personable and spent time answering my questions. It was a very quick procedure and I was able to leave the hospital quickly. Now, I am consulting with him about other neurological issues.

Initially I went to Dr.Alvernia because a neurologist told me I had 3 angiomas. He told me that we were going to keep an eye on them but if I had severe headaches to go to ER but I would probably die first!!!My primary sent me to Dr.A.Dr.A. looked at my 3 MRI's of my brain and educated me as to what was happening with me. Subsequently, I have had surgery by Dr.A on both wrists for carpal tunnel. He came highly recommended and I agree. He and staff are professional, caring, efficient. Very satisfied!

I had numbness in my arms and legs and had back pain. I was referred to Alvernia from my primary MD. He ordered rheumatology consult, nerve conduction study, along with other testing. After physical therapy for 6 weeks, my arm and leg numbness is gone. Although I do have neck discomfort at times I have benefitted from seeing Dr. Alvernia and I didn't have to have surgery! I am going to follow-up as needed with him and appreciate his concern.

Dr. Reed sent me to see Dr.Alvernia for carpal tunnel. After further testing and a consultation with Dr. A, it was determined that my ulnar nerve in my elbow was "trapped".I had surgery quick after my initial consult. I had a wonderful experience at P&S. He explained EVERYTHING to me regarding the surgery and what to expect afterwards. His office called frequently to check on me and make sure I was healing well. My pain in 98% gone from before surgery and my strength is totally back.Exceptional!

Dr. Alvernia is very caring and did not rush me to surgery the first visit. All avenues were tried prior to back surgery. After surgery he was the first person I saw after waking up from surgery and he came to see me every day.
