I LOVE him!! He is a Christian man that loves the Lord. His actions are evident of it. I tell him that and he says that "his hands are an instrument". Such a brilliant, humble man. He is AWESOME
My experience with Dr. Alvernia was great... I had severe pain due to herniated disc. Had scheduled surgery but he suggested I try physical therapy which proved to be the thing to do. I am now pain free and I would recommend Dr. Alvernia to anyone.
I had a L4-L5 lumbar fusion and discectomy for spondylolisthesis 6 weeks ago from Dr. A. My impression of Dr. Alvernia was excellent. He was informative and comprehensive about my circumstance.I had seen a local neurosurgeon, his PA first, then surgeon for about 2 minutes (before seeing Dr.A).He was short and uninterested about my situation. I was elated to find a surgeon in the area that was attentive to helping me. P&S was a great facility as was Alvernia and his staff.I would recommend them!!!
I had carpal tunnel surgery about a month ago at Monroe Surgical. My pain was numbness in all fingers pain 10/10. Immediately after surgery my numbness was gone but the incisional pain was 8/10 for about 2 days. Now, my fingertips have very minimal tingling at night but very much relieved from pre-op state. Dr. Alvernia said it would take 6 months to have full nerve recovery. He is very thorough and explained everything to me and my family. I would recommend him to everyone.
Very professional and friendly - he explained the problem I was having and the possible results of the surgery. I was very comfortable with his knowledge and skills and bed side manners. Prior to meeting Dr. Alvernia, I was very afraid of having any back surgery but his knowledge and explanation help me to make the necessary decision to have the surgery beside the pain. I am so thankful that I waited to meet Dr. Alvernia because he was truly a blessing sent from God.
Dr. Alvernia performed a 3 level lumbar fusion on me 4 months ago. I couldn't be more pleased with my results. My symptoms started in April and I went to another Neurosurgeon in the Monroe. He just started me on physical therapy and continued with therapy without any help. This surgeon never even placed his hands on me. I finally came to Dr. Alvernia for a second opinion and was in surgery at P&S within a month. Bedside manner, explanation of surgery, office staff was WONDERFUL!
Dr. Alvernia is truly a professional in every way. He performed major back surgery on my husband 7 weeks ago and his procedure was a total success. My husband came to see Dr. Alvernia after having gone through various therapies, shots, dry needle acupuncture, etc., and the surgeon immediately considered him a candidate for surgery. We are so fortunate to have a neurosurgeon of Dr. Alvernia's expertise in our area.
I have never been so pleased with any procedure in my life, 2 level laminectomy and discectomy. My initial visit was 2 years ago for "minor" movement limitations. He wanted to wait to perform surgery until I had more significant symptoms. Most neurosurgeons would have taken me to the OR without any significant result. I would recommend him to everyone for his skill and personality!!
I had back surgery and outcome was very wonderful. After care was wonderful. Staff was very pleasant. Great doctor!
