About this business
Opened in the summer of 2006 to replace the aging University Hall, the University of Virginia now holds its basketball games, concerts and other events in this 16,000 seat arena. Built almost entirely from a private donation, it takes its name from a former alumni, and not the Revolutionary War naval hero. It shouldn't be hard for fans to find, since it's right across the street from the old facility.

I was shocked that after paying for the concert tickets it was an additional $20 to park!! Someone has a racket going here. Also the purse size limit was ridiculous. Mine was 6" x 8" and I was told it was over the size limit. I guess when you attend a function in a liberal town one should expect things like this.

Very nice venue! organized and clean!!
The TSO concert was amazing, the parking and traffic control was awesome but being crammed like a sardine in a tiny seat with no shoulder or leg room for 3 hours was not pleasant. The arena should have worried a little less about profit and made those seats big enough for an adult to sit without torture! Very bad planning of the seating. Will not go again because of this.
People working were friendly and competent. Parking was great.
