On a trip to Florence, Italy in 1983, Il Giardino founder Tony Gargiulo saw a wood burning oven and knew it would be the centerpiece for the soon-to-open restaurant. The first in Virginia, our oven serves up fresh focaccia bread and pizza to order. All of our delicious menu items are prepared with the freshest and highest quality ingredients we can find. They had great music on the piano and violin while we ate! The waitress was very friendly and was able to accommodate my daughter who has a peanut allergy. Lots of red sauces with seafood/pasta dishes but it was very good. I would give the food a 4 but atmosphere and staff a 5.
The food and service here are top notch. We live an hour away and make the drive several times a year to celebrate our birthdays, anniversary, Mothers Day, etc here every year. It is the best Italian anywhere!
We were a little hesitant to try another restaurant right near the beach after being disappointed the night before. If we had come here the first night, we’d have come back the 2nd night -it was that good. Dinner was amazing. The quality of food was amazing and the service was even better.
Delicioso! What a great happy hour. Our meal was divine and Jake was a charming addition. Will surely be back.

Best Italian at the beach bar non. We tow out MG down every summer from Boston arriving around 5:30 and there valet parking always finds a spot for us
