On a trip to Florence, Italy in 1983, Il Giardino founder Tony Gargiulo saw a wood burning oven and knew it would be the centerpiece for the soon-to-open restaurant. The first in Virginia, our oven serves up fresh focaccia bread and pizza to order. All of our delicious menu items are prepared with the freshest and highest quality ingredients we can find. What a great experience. After being told about 45 minute wait we went up to the bar and a warm barmaid informed us we could dine at the bar. Great music by a very talented pianist/violinist added to the already comfortable setting. The service at the bar was more personable. The food was fantastic. Loved our experience and would certainly give it 77.77 stars, the lucky amount on our bill!!!
The food never disappoints! Very tasty, made with fresh ingredients. The lobster/shrimp pasta is absolutely delicious!
Jake was an amazing server. He genuinely enjoyed his job and he made our vacation. I will definitely be back to see him. Also the food was amazing . If you’re in Virginia Beach ... check the place out and ask for JAKE !
We were lost on where to get Italian and just happened to come across IL Giardino we were hesitant but it was phenomenal! Best fettuccine ever and homemade ziti noodles! Great service and affordable pricing with great portions!

I love this place ! Awesome food and service always !! Thank you Jake for the great service . Everything was truly delicious ...Cesar salad ( best ever!) ,huge portion of spaghetti w/ homemade meatballs and specially my strawberry � dessert !!!! I’ll be back real soon . I recommend this place when you are at the oceanfront !! A must go for sure !!!
