H&R Block gave me no option except for receive my refund as their Mastercard, which required me to give even more personal info, and it came with tons and tons of fine print .. so I put it aside. When I got back to it, there was ZERO MONEY on the card. So... they gave me a chore I didn't want, plus a massive headache, then robbed me of my paltry refund to boot. Hope they choke on it.

I will not be using them again. I get the feeling they don't know what they are doing and one gets the feeling that the tax return they did was incorrect. Too many inconsistencies in what they do.

H&R Block has successfully filed my taxes in the past. As a military family, we move a lot and find it easier to hire a service. I gave them two stars because they CAN file taxes and have made a name for themselves as a tax filing service that CAN get things done quickly and correctly. However, as 'experts' in a military town, the accountant omitted vital information that resulted in a penalty. H&R Block is not honoring their 100% guarantee. If I could give them a 0 I would. The tax preparer summit the wrong information to IRS and blamed IRS for their mistake. The card for the Emerald loan did not work and I had to wait three days to receive the loan. They were not consistent on updating me with the proper information and I had to keep checking with them and calling IRS. The representative could not tell me what the problem was and asked me to call IRS. Well, here is my experience with H&R block.. their agent made an error, not submitting proper paperwork for our tax return last year.. As a result, we were fined by IRS for almost $4k and had to pay it out of pocket! We always pay for Peace of Mind insurance with H&R. So, we made a claim and it was denied for no apparent reason... No explanation.. (It took over a year for them to deny our claim.. after multiple phone calls and tons of additional paperwork). This company is a joke.. If there was a zero rating I would give H&R Block a zero rating. I decided to use H&R Block to prepare my taxes for 2019 because I had several types of 1099's and I wanted to make sure my taxes were prepared correctly. I filed them online sending all my documents through their website. All communication is done through their website. Notified me that both my federal and states taxes have been accepted electronically. Come to find out on my own. The state never received anything. Had to mail in my state tax return. Was never notified that it was not sent.

I actually went to the Pine Plaza location on Niagara Falls Blvd and while I loved the woman I worked with that day I've been let down by the company. I filed mid March as soon as I got my w2s. Still haven't seen my tax refund and now as a result I haven't gotten my stimulus check either. I've called my location, tried an 800 number and looked for an online solution with no luck. It's been months now. I learned my lesson and I will never use H&R Block ever again.
