This seems to be a bad year for H & R Block! How can our local office be closed today when we've been waiting for our finished return for weeks!! Never had a problem before. Understand how Covid has screwed life up but this is ridiculous. We dropped off our return weeks ago. Our preparer does not call us, Since July 13, 2020 I have initiated multiple conversations. If I could give no stars, I would. I have been helping a friend with his tax returns this year. I needed his adult son's tax returns from last year, mind you the adult (22 year old child lives with his father permanently). I looked over his son's taxes from H&R Block and noticed horrible errors and false information. Besides the errors, which now require an amendment be filed for the last 3 years, the rep also charged this kid for extra services that no child with an income of $5,000 needs. Was simply going to H&R Block at **** ***** *** ** ******** ***** **to take a scheduled exam this morning. The agent, who later answered the phone as Jennifer, not only showed up 20 minutes late, but was rude, condescending and refused to let half of us take the test. I can understand that there was a scheduling error out of her control, but the fact that she was late opening the store, swore at us, and then yelled at us about something that was also out of our control was unacceptable. Today is tax deadline day, and I had an appointment for 2:00PM. It is not just before 9:00PM, and my “tax professional” has not touched my folder yet, but someone who showed up for a 4:30PM appointment has just been finished being helped. H&M’s block customer service is not reachable and the “tax professionals” at this location will not acknowledge customers or answer the phone. I have been going to H&R Block for over a decade to do my taxes. This will be the last year I file through them. While I understand the affects of COVID on the personal service I had been shown by H&R Block over the years, the way in which I was treated this year was the worst. Trying to file a return electronically. Tried using the live chat and phone numbers. Almost impossible to navigate, and you just told that there's no one to help you because of the pandemic. Needlessly purchased software that was useless to me, since I can't e-file a prior year return. Wish someone would have told me that, since I spent 50 bucks on something I didn't need. I had already completed my taxes, and to my surprise got the same results from their software. Tried over and over again to reach a live person. Don't kno... read more

A total lack of customer privacy regarding my refund for Federal and State. The block employee made an announcement in the lobby as to how much money I was getting back on Federal and Kansas state tax. Does H & R Block understand the rules of privacy in this country. Especially a tax preparing office who's been in business since 1955? I can't get anyone to answer the phone either.

I'd give them a zero if I could. I made an appointment with Carole J. Over the phone yesterday for 6 PM today. She stated if I didn't make an appointment I'd end up sitting and waiting. She then suggested I come earlier 5:30 so we'd have plenty of time. She stated she wanted to be my service provider. She felt we shouldn't wait till the next day in case we ran into any problems. Had appointment at 9 am. Agent was late, then pretended not to be there. She (Grace) did answer the phone. Asked what the appointment was for. I explained, but shouldn't she already know this from their system when I scheduled the appointment? She was very short and rude and said she can't help us and rudely HUNG UP (on a consumer that paid them)! I would not recommend this office!! Avoid this office by all means!
