I have purchased and used H&R Block tax software for years with no issue. I purchased their tax CD for 2019 taxes as usual. When completed I requested all necessary forms and schedules to send to the IRS. I was shown a list of forms and schedules and I trusted that this list was correct. I filed my return on Feb 27, 2020. On Aug 28, 2020 I received a notice from the IRS saying that I was missing Schedule D and it's back-up documents. Unprofessional. Lapse in communication and professionalism. Messy. Jesse T***** is supposed to be the manager that oversees multiple Montgomery County, Maryland offices, but it appears that she is not the person for the job. I can only surmise that the office's lapse in organization is in large part due to her incompetence as an appointment and hired leader.

IF I COULD GIVE THEM A -5 I WOULD,,,,,I have been with H&R Block for 31 years paying the peace of mind plan, now that they made a mistake since march the are not honoring it they keep give me the run a round.. They need to be held accountable...

H&R Block advertised for an open position in their Wildey Street, Tarrytown office. I applied for it and signed forms allowing for a background check, a credit check, and other information. They left a voice mail message for me to call and schedule an interview. But when I did so, I was told that there was not an open position. Rather, they were signing people up for training courses. I have done my taxes online with H & R Block since 2014. In 2018, I was audited for my 2015, $800 taxes paid to MA & CT. I live in MA and work in CT since 2015. I contacted H & R Block by email, they gave me a case number, and told me what info they needed. I scanned and emailed all documents, and then, they "ghosted" me. I sent them the transcript from MA DOR, and still nothing. Last week I was notified by MA DOR that I'm being audited again, this time $1741 !!! Would not recommend. My 2019 Taxes were completely ****** and I lost a ton of money due to HR Block. I paid for someone to do the taxes for me, for peace of mind, for someone to review all of this. Still filed wrong the first time. They "checked" but income and expenses were missed. Furthermore, I had to submit an amendment which they filed without my consent. I am self employed they didn't even deduct medical expenses. If i could, I would absolutely sue this company for lost money and improper business practices. Awful. The... read more

I went to H & R Block office in Marble Falls Texas to file for my 2018 tax return. Now 09/2019, received an email from IRS that I owe them $2,100 all because the lady who filed my tax didn’t do her job right and they refused to pay for their mistake. Plus they asked me to pay $134 for amending my tax which as a result I still have to pay $1,600 to IRS. Do your job right people and take full responsibility for a mistake your associate did. If I could give a 0 I would!! Long story short because of bad training and incorrect data presented to the I.R.S that I made available to the tax prep I was Audited. it was stated by numerous managers that the tax prep was at fault.. moving forward that was January 27th it is now September 26th..and I have been in a battle with H&R block.
