BLOCK ADVISORS AND SPECIFICALLY MARIE CURRIE ARE A JOKE!! THEY ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO TAKE YOUR (overcharged) MONEY, BUT IF YOU NEED SERVICING AFTERWARDS....FORGET ABOUT IT!!! NOT REACHABLE BY PHONE NEITHER AT OFFICE OR AT HOME!! DOES NOT RESPOND TO EMAIL!! UNBELIEVABLE HOW PAYING TOP DOLLAR TO HAVE TAXES DONE GETS YOU NO SERVICE!! MY ADVICE IS SKIP THESE SO CALLED ADVISORS. RIP OFF. they get one star only because no star was not available

I have used this company for years, doing my own taxes online or with their software. This past year I bought and sold a house and moved across states. When I got my taxes finished, the program recommended that I get a tax pro look it over because it was complex. It wasn't expensive, so I thought it would be good to have someone trained take a quick look to make sure forms were all in the right places, etc. What ended up happening was that the so-called tax pro made my taxes late, and at no point did anyone warn me that this... read more

Many of us find taxes stressful, and so we seek professionals to help us out. It's one of the privileges of having a bit of money to spend. Don't go to H&R Block if you want that solace. Or service. Or a response to an email. As for the actual work of preparing a tax return, I have no idea. I worked with two branches, one in Vancouver BC and the other in Bellingham WA. I had a problem around tax time where I was charged like $30 at a paywall after preparing taxes that because of my income were supposed to be FREE. my family member paid the fee and I spent april- july31st attempting to call them and waiting on hold to be transferred to endless holds that never so much as reached a voicemail. They might benefit from an online customer service ticket program or something because it would have been much easier to resolve my problem that way. My spouse and I spent many hours preparing our 2019 tax information so that it would be organized and clear for the preparer. Nevertheless, the preparer NEVER LOOKED AT IT, completing our taxes using the standard deduction. Then he charged us hundreds of dollars for his shoddy work. If we had not looked carefully at the preparation, we would have not realized an amended return was needed. This is entirely too long of a story to completely detail, so I condensed it down. The first time I went into H&R Block The IRS ended up sending me letters and thankfully I had "purchased" their peace of mind protection, because I was told without that I'd have been on my own. Fast forward to this year. I went into the office to have my taxes prepared, I had a form from my student loans but they were put on hold because I started school again so I ended up only paying $10 in interest. Terrible service. Put on hold for 2.5 hours because they failed to file my taxes, then failed to notify me. After being on hold that long the customer service representative had a bad attitude and hung up on me. Outright lie claiming they have an “accuracy guarantee” for filing.

I came to this office because I was unable to gain acres to the H&R Block app. The customers service line was not helpful at all and kept hanging up on me which i felt was really POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. They didn't submit my State Taxes. I didn't find out until a week before the July 15th deadline. I have spent the last 2 weeks trying to get a hold of them in an attempt to get this figured out. What kind of Scam are they running? I will NEVER use them again. Their customer service is crap and they are obviously not trustworthy
