Recommendedgreat place. works with you on appointments and does everything they can to meet your needs. friendly and accepting. easy to find and felt safe inside and outside the building. has a pharmacy inside the building to make things more convenient. I would recommend to and transgender people to come here if your trying to begin your transition.
can't speak much from the patient perspective as I've never received care from HBH, but I did work in the admin department for three years and would absolutely advise against it for any femmes/people of color. their voices are tragically unvalued throughout the org, but particularly when it comes to the executive board and development/communications department. that said, i've heard wonderful things about the frontline staff and their treatment of patients.

am I the only that has problems with Howard Brown Health's billing department? somehow I always end up getting a bill from Quest Diagnostics after a visit (whether I use insurance or sliding scale!) and no one in the billing department is ever available to take my call (have left several messages with no response after a week)

As someone who has been a patient at Howard Brown for over two years, I can say that the nurses are pretty much the only part of my visits that make me feel cared for. I stand in solidarity with their union. Recognize their union and negotiate a fair contract. it is the right thing to do not only for the nurses, but for the patients as well.
It is coming!!! You will die at Howard Brown.
