While the hosting service worked while I needed it, I can't seem to cancel my account. Luckily, the credit card they had on file is no longer valid, so I am not being charged. But, I'd like to close my account so that there are no credit issues on my side.

This company incorrectly charged me $15 yesterday. Last night, I contacted support and was assured I would receive a refund. Then today a "Jason S" notified me the company was now refusing to refund the $15. I don't like to be lied to and this feels like fraud. BEWARE!

I have the misfortune of being a client of hostgator for 1 year. The only reason that is still true is because I stupidly purchased a three year contract. In that time, every single of the 10+ actions that requires Hostgator authorization has either not been performed or been executed incorrectly. In some cases, the admins who perform the support tickets just mark it as done without doing the job and then lie about it. Very difficult to cancel anything with this company. There is no easy "cancel domain" button so you are left waiting for an agent in order to cancel your domain. The first time I tried this process with an agent I was left waiting indefinitely for them to cancel. The second time the process was "escalated" and they informed me they would email me (have not received an email). I am approaching the "auto-renewal" date and am concerned that no one will get back to me in time for a charge to be added to my account.

Clients are able to manage their domains directly through their account by logging into the portal and going to the Doamin management page. They take your money by having you save your credit card. For hosting, they took my money on a card I forgot I stored 15 days before due without my knowledge (probably on a fine print line somewhere). When we disputed it with the bank, I got a cocky email from a "William K" Chargeback administrator. He called it a legitimate practice and shut down my account as he reversed the charge months later. Dealing with HostGator is the worst experience of my life, I can believe a company can be this unorganized and incompetent. I transferred my domain to HostGator in 2013 and have been paying them domain registration services since then. A few weeks before my domain was to expire, I made multiple attempts to try and renew my domain. This company has deceptive billing practices and they should make adjustments in order to stop receiving these negative reviews. On July 24, 2018 I received an email from them regarding auto-renewal of my hosting/domain services, payment of $107.40 due on September 8, 2018. On August 24, 2018 payment was auto-processed in the amount of $122.40. $107.40 for the hosting, and an additional amount not indicated on the invoice in the amount of $15, for the domain renewal. In reviewing the account in question the invoices for the renewal of the domain and the hosting were separate invoices and the notification for each invoice would have been sent out in a separate notice. I didn't renew hosting plan with them and decided to switch hosting companies. I have about 3 domains still registered through HostGator, 2 I just renewed the year. My domains have been suspended and their support tell me its my new hosts fault. All my ******* domains are working just fine after the switch, but the HostGator domains are not resolving is costing me a lot of business.
