Hostgator.com has the best customer service of any hosting provider I have ever dealt with (and I have dealt with quite a few). I always recommend them to people who want to set up a new website.

When reviewing the account we only found one contact had been made in 2016 which was the request to cancel the hosting service and one contact in 2014. I've used Hostgator as my host for over 10 years...and they were always great. Within the last few months, they have sent me a few emails telling me that my account has been suspended due to malware. Seems like something was creating random files on the server...each time, I would find them and delete them. And change all passwords. The third warning came, and they told me the only way to reinstate my account was to purchase their ******** security for hundreds dollars...which by the way, they tout as a 3rd party even though... read more

Host gator is the worst hosting company i have worked with. It was the worst customer experience I had ever had. They shut my account off because it received traffic (normal for a website) I received no warning or prior notification. They told me I had to pay to upgrade to get the account turned back on, which would take over 2 hours (even though I had tried to upgrade multiple times in the past). Any one cPanel on a shared server is allowed to use up to 25% of the CPU resources and may exceed this limit for up to 90 seconds. I hosted with hostgator for 9 years now but recently they proved to be a sketchy company. They increased the hosting price and lowered security. All 34 of my websites were hacked. When I contacted them about this, they wanted to promote their security partner sitelock and wanted me to buy service from them
