Company is awful, owned by a parent company Endurance International Group that owns many more hosting companies they bought up and provides the same crappy service. Tech support is incompetent in solving problems with email and account migration. Failed at account migration. **** *** ***** **** ********* **** ******** has little concern for resolving by denying report and closing ticket unresolved: articles.****************************

We were sorry to hear about the clients experience. Unfortunately the information provided references two accounts that were closed in 02/15. In the other account that was referenced we were not able to find a migration request. For clarification support requests including requests for Courtesy Migratons are never closed. They are set on hold when additional information has been requested and are awaiting for the client's response or the question that was being asked has been addressed by an admin. Worst Tech support ever! I have never had an issue resolved through HG tech support. The techs are rude and condescending. I continually need to reach out to other sources to resolve issues. I have no idea how they can have an A+ rating lol

I am a customer of Host Gator. I switched to them a couple of weeks ago from *******. It has been the worst experience for me and my family. Specifically, I am now receiving approximately 200 spam emails a day when I was receiving about 5-10 before. I was having problem with spam so I called their tech support for help. They told me to turn on a product on their c-panel called box-trapper. I did not know what this was and they did not explain what it was before it was turned on. These guys are such a fraud. Their customer service is horrific. So I go in to remove my credit cards on my account, because I am canceling my service and don't want them to auto-charge any illegal charges. Literally the moment I remove my credit card from the account, Host Gator makes an illegal, fraudulent, $15 charge. I then have to spend all this time with customer service to remove the charge, and they sit there and blame me the entire time for it. I asked 7 times in the chat, "Did you remove the $15 fraudulent charge?"... read more

We were sorry to hear about the clients concern with the domain renewal. In reviewing the account we did see that the domain in question was set to auto renewal on the account and was active. In reviewing the account several credit cards had been added to the account during the life of the account and only the most recently added card had been removed. The other cards were removed by live support when that team was contacted for assistance. To resolve this amicable the domain renewal invoice has been refunded.

In January of 2016 my blog, which was hosted on Hostgator was coming under a brute force attack where several attempts were being made per minute to guess login credentials for my site. My site went down periodically. Then it'd be back up and go back down. I contacted HostGator. They said they were "forced to temporarily restrict access to MySQL" as single hosting accounts can't use more than "25% of the entire server's resources." We were sorry to hear that the Hosting Service Purchased did not meet the clients needs. On a shared hosting account the resources are shared for all users on the server and the 25 simultaneous database connections is usually more than sufficient. Most database connections open and close within a fraction of a second. A forum with 500 active members will rarely hit this 25 simultaneous connections. I can't possibly say enough negative things about HostGator. First and foremost I've been a customer for 5 years now leasing a dedicated server through them, paying roughly $2500 per year. The first thing I should say is that their customer server is nonexistent. When you do get ahold of someone, they're reading from a script, and you'll generally have to talk to 5 or 6 people before you get escalated to a high enough level of support where someone can actually help you. Hostgator.com has the best customer service of any hosting provider I have ever dealt with (and I have dealt with quite a few). I always recommend them to people who want to set up a new website.

For nearly a year, I contacted technical support on numerous occasions trying to fix a very simple problem: I needed to switch my domain name, but for some reason HostGator's interface wasn't allowing me to. I contacted them over and over again, to no avail.
