Bluehost suspended my account due to a "hacked" website. I contacted them via webchat and they asked that I clean the infected file which I did. I cleaned out the infected file which they pointed out and then they ran a subsequent scan on my account. When I cleaned out the infected files, in addition, I cleaned and deleted two root directories. I have experience similar trouble previously stated and I am trying to get a refund and use and other company. The website builder does not work and I have had half a website for months when I called to resolve the issue they add a hosting plan which is already included in the plan I have when I called back to get a refund they gave me some of my money back but then parked my domain for having no hosting. If I could leave negative reviews I would. Website was down for TEN days and by the 8th day I kept being told "we're going to escalate this to our tech specialist". After 8 days? By the 10th day it was back up ONLY because I moved my website to another hosting company. When I called to tell them I wanted a full refund of my just-paid annual renewal they said "well we fixed your site and it's up and running (!!!!). I've been a customer for over 20 years and this will be a honest and through review. IT'S THE WORST HOSTING COMPANY IN EXISTENCE. And it's getting worse. The only reason I am with them currently is because I own nearly 100 domain names and am transferring domain names before they expire as to avoid a ton of money in bulk transfer rates. Before you domain name expires, they renew it as to snag you for the domain renewal fee. Their emails say they will charge your credit card 15 days prior but it's more like 16-17. I've caught them over billing my account which is stealing money as far as I am concerned, it went back 6yrs and I was told they would only refund the first year as it was my responsibility to keep an eye on my account. I apologized for not watching to see if they stole from me.... I also purchased an *** cert from them at a quoted price and later was told it did not cover my 1 subdomain and when my *** was never verified I was told I had to purchase a different package to cover the subdomain. Do yourself a favor: AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE! They enrolled me in autopay without my consent, resulting in an unexpected charge to my account, for a service that I was actually in the process of cancelling. When I contacted them to see if the charges could be reversed, they gave me the runaround. (This was all via online chat. This company is very shady. I have requested multiple times to address a huge security issue (********* Panel) which has been ignored and swept under the rug. Not only did they not address the issue, but they put a hold on my website because of "Viruses" as if they tried to find a reason to place the blame on me. The reason I finally decided to rate this terrible company is that on Black Friday, there were no available deals or offerings to choose from if you already had an account which is disgusting.
