I rented via Hertz through the AAA website. The AAA site had a purchase ahead of time rate that was favorable so I paid ahead. Upon renting the car, I was asked to purchase a handful of additional options, which I refused. The only thing I agreed to was to pay fuel upfront so I wouldn't have to refill before returning. I also asked to add my wife as a driver, which was free thanks to AAA. I was then asked to insert my credit card for payment and sign for the fuel add-on and to confirm my wife as a driver. ************:Hertz doesnt even deserve 1 star. We made a reservation for a car in May. We showed up in September and the apathetic worker looked like she hated her job. She told me they only had one car left and it was an electric vehicle, the ***** Bolt (not what we reserved). I asked her what its charge level was and she said 30%, which would only take us 80 miles if we didnt turn the ** on. I booked online at one location which I had to switch 1week later bc the location was closing why was I allowed to book it then? The was told to cancel my reservation and switch it I would be charged a cancellation fee, then my reservation would be rebook and I would be paying different rates after much back and forth and being told I wasnt allowed to speak to a supervisor because that is hertz policy the reservation was rebooked with no extra charge fast forward to pick up day and I was told my credit card number was put in... read more

The employees are rude they are not helpful at all then I was disrespected from a employee at the service department at the hertz in ************* he had cashiers waiting for six hours or more then was treating me as if he was going to do something to me if I didn't leave his property...I had to wait to police was there to retrieve my issues out the car I rented for two months with doing uber and I was mistreated wrong for the most part of my experience with this company...All staff need to be looked at more and need new sta... read more

I was denied renting the car after they declined my credit card - Equifax NOT my bank - and then declined my debit card - again NOT my bank - which had sufficient funds of the rental plus the $500 deposit leaving me stranded at the airport with no transportation. I was on a business trip for the ********** ************** and missed a whole morning of meetings scrambling for transportation. I will NEVER rent from Hertz again.

Made a reservation a week in advance. Upon picking up, no car was available.***** the "manager" at the counter was extremely rude and unprofessional to myself and my wife because we had asked why no one called in advance to disclose there was no vehicle available to pick up. Mind you I'm traveling from MA to ** for a funeral to say the least. HERTZ IS A COMPLETE FAILURE FOR A CAR RENTAL SERVICE I rent 15 cars per year, and rarely from Hertz, this time I gave them a try again. I reserved a car at Tthe ************ Airport, but there was no agent at the counter upon arrival. I called customer service and they had the reservation, and stated I'd have to wait 2 hours until the agent checked back into work. I waited 2 hours, he said: "we have no vehicles". Rented a compact car from ******************, ****** ** from Sept 19th through the 24th. Upon pickup, I was informed only electric cars are available. I told the attendant I had no experience with electric and requested a gas powered vehicle. I was not given any guidance from the attendant about a different vehicle aside from, "sorry, this is all we have."
