Hertz rental is horrible! We recently traveled and had to make a last minute change in our rental accommodations and they charged us 4x the regular rate. When I called requesting they review the charge they refused and said I agreed to it and they couldn't make any adjustments. I understand a last minute rental being more than normal but that is absolutely ridiculous! Talk about a company taking advantage of a customers situation!!

My significant other and I experienced the worst rental car transaction with Hertz at Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta. Upon arrival to the Hertz ticket counter there was no formal introduction by the solitary staff member working: She stated " Name, Drivers license and Credit Card". Upon furnishing her with the information the employee begins to admire my boyfriends credit card and exclaim how much she desires to have a card like this one day. Buyer beware. If you are going to rent from Hertz, you may want to consider taking several precautions. A quick perusal of recent reviews and you will find dozens and dozens of horrible stories, ranging from being charged for a 'smoke cleaning' (when the renter has not smoked), to being left stranded with a broken down car, to being charged for items people did not agree to. After experiencing issues on their website for booking I was forced to arrive at Tampa Airport without a booking. Despite being a loyal customer I was price gouged for $405 per day for a simple rental. After making a complaint via email and following up with 2 phonecalls there has been no action from Hertz Customer Service. These guys do not care about you and they certainly do not care for loyal customers, go elsewhere...

Hertz on Tamiami blvd in ft myers florida has the worst service I have ever had.. The car was not clean there was a half drank water bottle in the cup holder. The back seat had a seat belt latch missing so we could not take our family all together in 1 car.. On my receipt which i had prepaid.. Clearly said $0 due at the counter. When i got there i had to pay a $500 deposit.. Seriously... I will never use Hertz again.. I have always used Enterprise and thats who i will continue to use.

I rented a car for the afternoon to drive around the island (on Oahu). I was asked if I wanted to use their "pre-paid" fuel option. When I asked about it, the lady at the desk told me they'd put "a hold" on for one tank of gas since I'd only have the car for about 10 hours and that I'd only get charged for the fuel I used, she even told me the price per gallon I'd pay, something like $3.74 per gallon. Paid 600 for a car I never got to use . All the employees I came across were so rude and just a terrible experience all around . Still have not received my money back and we are going on a month now.

I got charged a whole month after my rental for something that I was told wouldn't be charged for. Then when I called I was told I would be refunded in 10 business days. 15 days go by and nothing so I call back but this time saying there is nothing they can do. I have my receipt showing the original amount but got charged an extra $70. Whoever wouldn't approve the refund sure knows how to not keep customers and I hope the $70 was worth it over getting a customer for life.

I had a confirmed car rental in 04/2021 to be picked up and dropped off at Hertz at The Hyatt Resort and Spa, Scottsdale, AZ. In fact, I received an email reminder confirmation 48 hours prior to pick up. The car was rented aprox. six weeks in advance. We arrived at The Hyatt only to find out the location has been CLOSED since 12/2021. In addition, all other Hertz locations in Scottsdale were closed!
