Summary: Totally opaque, deceptive price estimates, and unhelpful, unfriendly customer service. I rented a car from Hertz recently. I placed a reservation online, and was given a price estimate for the total cost of the rental of about $715. I paid a deposit of about $500 as I placed the reservation online. I reserved and payed for a van a month ago. when I went to pick it up they said they have no vans available and there was nothing they could do about it. I payed contractors to help with moving stuff, they cost me thousands of dollars out of pocket due to their unprofessional services. this business needs to be investigated they are a bunch of scammers........

I rented a Tesla electric car from Hertz thinking it was $100 per day and when I got my receipt it turned out to be $148. I was not told about all the surcharges. The biggest one was EV misc. fees was $19.71 and the customer service says this is not refundable as it is government issued. I should have been told about $48 extra and I would not have rented this car for one day. I will not shop with Hertz again. Will go back to Enterprise.

Absolutely horrible. They did not rent me a car but took 200.00 from me. I've had to not only dispute it with my bank but also with them. Literally stole my money! Awful customer service awful company and downright thieves.

This is our third bad experience with Hertz. We have been Gold members for some time and we have yet to get the benefits with fast check in. Each time there is a "problem" that they cannot diagnose because when we walk through my account, everything looks correct. Additionally, we booked the most recent reservation and realized we put 10 pm instead of 10 am and corrected it immediately and got a verification email. Wow I really wish I'd had looked on here first. I guess everyone else have been treated the same as I have. They let you rent and pay and then it's not available, yet they take your money and you have to wait to get your money back in 5 to 7 business days. I rented a cargo van online a week prior and then on the day I went to pick it up I was told there was no Vans anywhere at any location. Prebooked,prepaid for a car went to pick it up and they have no cars available! I couldn't believe it and they wouldn't bring cars from another location. And they wouldn't cancel the reservation from my credit card and when you called to speak to customer service and you want to talk to a person they charge you 5% to talk to someone in person. It's the biggest scam location in Milwaukee I would never suggest anybody stop here. *** ******* ******** *** ******************* ZERO STARS

I made reservations with Priceline and Hertz was part of that reservation. I get to the rental desk for them to tell me that they need a credit card. I'm like, it's part of a package and was paid for. Then they were like we need $500 to rent one to you. The customer service was **** and they're policies are even worse. I ended up having to call Priceline to cancel the car and went with another company that not only charged me the same but gave me an upgrade. Never again will I book with Hertz.
