OMG! I pre purchased the gas because I was told my fee would be based on how much I use and bring back!!! I drove a total of 81 miles(documented by them) I prepaid 93.00!!!! And was told now that it's in the agreement!!! 93 freaking dollars for 81 miles !!! NEVER again will I use Hertz

Horrible, got in an accident not my fault, got there no suv, gave me a car. Needed longer than was given car for called hertz 6 days before due back to extend time needed. Dropped off 4 days after first date given and 13 before second date they charged me $130 not the insurance and won't refund the money and charge the insurance

Where do I begin? Can't give zero stars, I guess. The rental agent just took our ID's with no mention of extra driver charge. I guess he assumed that we knew. You are the only ones we have ever rented from that do not allow spouses to drive for free. He did not explain that we had to pay for that. We would have rented with someone else. Maintenance required warning was on the whole time, gummed up access to vehicle information such as lane assist and cruise control, not to mention annoying messages on the radio screen. Over the past 5 years I've had a number of bad experiences with Hertz rental car on business travel. Cars are often dirty with windshields that are so greasy you can't see out of them. I've had delayed flights that Hertz refused to accommodate leaving me without a car. I've had airline troubles force me to unplanned airports. Hertz refuses to accommodate. Even going as far as saying, "We don't have any cars to transfer your reservation" at Phoenix Sky Harbor, where an entire floor of the parking garage is dedicated to Hertz ... read more

Misleading. Was given a receipt with an estimated charge, and told to pick any vehicle from select rows. The rows contained sedans and SUVs. We were traveling with a car seat and stroller. When my wife asked an employee directly if all of the vehicles were the same price, the employee responded that we could pick any of the vehicles in the lot. Technically truthful - but undoubtedly misleading.

CRIMINALS - Only rent from here if you want to be lied to and cheated. I rented from Dollar, but signed my contract at Thrifty and dealt with Hertz customer service, so my experience applies to all these sister companies. I rented a car from Dollar at the New Orleans Airport on May 11, 2022 and returned it on May 12, 2022 for my business trip. Hidden fees, their customer service is non-existent and you can't contact the place you rented the car from on the phone. The system gives you the runaround until you're connected with a call center overseas. I wish I went with *****

Hertz is a scam company. They charged me $559.47 the day I made the booking (4/7/2022) in order to secure the "pre-pay" rate. I was supposed to be charged the difference ($217.33) at the counter. Instead, when I got my credit card statement, I discovered I was charged $776.80 the day I completed the rental, IN ADDITION to the $559.47. So I was overcharged by $559.47. I called on 5/16/2022 and was told my refund would arrive 7 to 10 business days from that day. It's 5/31/2022 and still no refund. I called again and I was told... read more

Went to pick my car at the scheduled time at the location was closed that day. I received a confirmation email 2 days before pick-up so I'm not sure whats going on with the miscommunication. If I was told in advance I could've made other plans
