Do not use Hertz in New Orleans! There is fraud going on there. No one is there to check cars in upon return. There is no other choice but to leave it. Then, later you get a bogus charge for something. This has happened twice. So, it is a pattern. The first rental was on April 11. It was first charged correctly at $114.65. After the return, a smoking fee of $500 was added. Not only did they charge the $500 additional, but they double billed the original for a total charge of $614.54. Two mistakes. Rented an economy fuel vehicle online. Upon my arrival I was advised they were putting me in an electric vehicle which would not suffice as where I am going does not have charge access. They then tried to force me into an upgrade at my additional cost with absolute no customer service, zero empathy and overall bad management. Rented car at Charlotte, NC Airport… paid for in advance! BIG Mistake! We pick up car, told them we didn’t want insurance and signed and went on our way. Half way through our trip I get a credit card charge , they charged us for insurance, over $600.00! Because we signed, that’s all that matters, not that the desk clerk didn’t understand what we told her, and obviously we didn’t understand either! Never again will I rent anything from Hertz!
Hertz writes contracts and guarantees vehicles or vehicles similar to the one they charge you for. After your card is charged and you contact the pick up location the location then informed me that they would be "upgrading" me to a full size car that gets 20 mpg less than the vehicle I paid for. Hertz is a horrible rental company. Then since they can't accommodate my rental contract tell.me I have to wait 7 to 10 business days to get the money they charged me for for product they couldn't provide
I rented a Tesla on Thursday April 27 at Atlanta airport rental company. I returned the vehicle on Sunday morning at 5:30am April 30. Once I was on my plane I realized I forgot my camera inside of the glovebox along with my balloon pump and projector in the backseat of the car. Upon landing in Chicago I immediately tried to call and make a report but got nothing but machines. My credit card continues to be charged 6 weeks after my rental for erroneous charges. I have no access to a live agent. This is a disgusting scam if a company. Avoid at all costs.
Hertz takes advantage of Uber drivers. If you are reading this review and have been debating on utilizing the Uber-Hertz rental program, I strongly suggest finding another option. Hertz has hidden fee's and holds that will certainly cause your account to be eventually overdrawn. I was making weekly payments that were auto drafted from my account. Rented a car on 4/11/23 to pick up on 4/14 in ********. Got there only to find out it was a $500 deposit and credit check in order to use my bank card so I cancelled and went to a different car rental place. I called on 4/14 at 8:06am to cancel my rental because the people working the desk have no way to do it themselves for whatever reason. That lady said Id have my money back within 24 hours. I didnt.
