I couldn’t be more discouraged by the poor customer service with The Hartford Courant. We paid for the entire year in January of 2023. This was to receive the paper on Thursdays and on Sundays. We have not received the paper at all. I have called customer service every single week on Thursday and Sunday complaining about not receiving it. Terrible delivery service. Pleasant customer service but completely ineffective. Scripted answers.
I placed an online complaint about not getting my paper delivered early in the week. When I failed to get a delivery for two (2) more days, I called to cancel my subscription. The CSR was apologetic and offered me a discount if I would give the Courant a chance to rectify the situation. I agreed but indicated they’d hear from me again if there was a problem. I have been having delivery issues for 3 years. The weekday paper is often delivered after 8:30 am which means I am already at work and won't be able to read it until I return. Customer service is constantly re-directing me to the online version which is not appealing to me. In addition, when I miss a paper and report it I discovered that the credit is your expiration date being extended by one day. I would give 0 stars if possible. The Hartford Courant is not the business it once was. My mother pays 13 weeks in advance for her paper. Most weeks the paper does not make it to our house at least 1-2 days. However, we are currently going on day 10. We call customer service every single day. They say the same things every single day. In the last year I have called the Courant 25 times because I didn't receive my paper. I get the same response every time, it is like talking to a machine, they have no answers and they can't resolve the problem. They keep telling me they will send an urgent message about my problem! If they told me they don't have a delivery person I can understand that, just tell me what is going on! Poor Customer Service!
Have been reading the Courant since 1961. Have subscribed since 1967. The deliveries since John (our delivery person for many years) found he could no longer deliver because of personal issues has been below POOR !!!!!!! Deliveries are sporadic. Sometimes we get the Wall Street Journal instead of the Courant. Multiple calls have been made, with the same, lame canned response from 1st line customer service. Each time they promise that someone from distribution will call back. They NEVER have. At the price charged (over $1,000 per year) service needs to be better. HARTFORD COURANT keeps charging my account for subscriptions on september 20 and october 5, 2022. i called about the one on september 20, 2022, customer service told me they have no record of it. On october 5, 2022, i received notice from my bank another charge from hartford courant. hartford courant has poor speaking customer service. how can they charge my account and don't have it on file.
