I’m writing to report what appears to be fraudulent billing from the Hartford current. Also, there is no Customer service in Hartford at all. It goes directly to the Philippines and they refer to the Hartford Courant as they/them which appears as if they take no ownership and separate themselves from the billing and sales! The Hartford Courant tried to bill me $582.99 for eight weeks of printed iand digital services. - $10/day!!! We’ve gotten this paper for over fifty years -50!I called ahead of time and the. right before vacation to ask if delivery person would leave paper on front step instead of end of driveway as I’d be out of town and my mom is 86!Was told absolutely no problem.First day -nope.Second called again saying I’m out of town please please help me and speak with driver etc.-nothing..There is no communication or care what so ever for their customers .i even took the time to write to the Editor just to see if someone could help.Honestly ... read more

Changed my address to a location 1 mile from my house. 6 days later and no papers. Two calls to report the problem, Told they would report it to "Distribution". There is absolutely no one in the entire world one can talk to other than the clerk in the call center. No wonder the Courant has a reputation in the cellar for customer service. Been a print customer for 40 years and will probably cancel next week if not resolved
The delivery is always a problem. They leave the paper on the side of the road many times. They sent a promo for 26 weeks at $1.99 and then applied it for 13 weeks at $3.99. There is no accountability as the customer service is out of the country. My father still wants to get the paper and after cancelling due to too many issues decided to try again with the promotion. This is false advertising and taking advantage of seniors.

Horrible customer service! Problem began when I switched from auto pay to pay be check. Courant cashed the check, and also autobilled. Refund was issued for the overpayment. However, Delivery was ridiculous. My subscription was for a twelve week period. On the first day of the cycle, paper was not delivered. Promised same day delivery did not occur. The date of the newspaper is March 20 2025. I love the Hartford Courant I have been reading it for decades and reliable upon it everyday for world news and some local news. As of today this newspaper has completely been turned upside down on its head. Everything on the front page is about Connecticut only. And then the next six pages are about Connecticut only. The Hartford Courant has delivered me 1 paper out of a 6 month subscription and it was the one with the Black Friday advertisements around Thanksgiving. This is a complete scam. I have reported all missed deliveries via the worthless automated system and representatives in call centers in India. Filed a claim with BBB. Multiple emails and still no paper delivered.
Absolutely the worst customer service. We were moving out of state and paid up to the date we were leaving and cancelled out service going forward. Hartford Courant continued to bill us and multiple phone calls led to no resolution as one staff had no idea what another staff did and we just got a run a round. Once we finally did get resolution from someone that in fact our subscription was cancelled and we had zero balance, we still got further bills and were turned over to a collection agency.
