What is most frustrating is the Courant's pretense of letting the customer think that a delivery problem will be solved. In reality, the Courant did nothing to solve our problem (no paper delivery). Struggling to report the problem is the first issue. Calling the Courant phone number results in a menu from which to choose. I chose "delivery problem" and was connected with a person in another country; THREE DIFFERENT TIMES, on three different days! The agents were polite, but unable to get my paper delivered. It's been about a week now with no delivery and perhaps one delivery made in the afternoon. It is frustrating that there is no one to talk to or any posting of known delivery problems. Customer Service just seems to be an offshore service with access to your account but has no idea what is going on otherwise and will not do anything but report a problem. Which has no benefit. I can report non-delivery online. There is just no way of knowing if or when delivery will resume. But, hey, they did just send me their bill on time!
Started subscription May 1, 2023. Paid up front. Since May 1 the paper has not been delivered at least 29 times. I've emailed the EDITOR of the paper several times and was assured the problem would be resolved immediately. We've called the customer support hot line for credits yet the problem continues. First of all the worst services ever. No Stars for the Hartford Courant. I had subscription in the past in the past and I canceled it for non-delivery and did not send me back the credit I was due. They actually deserve no stars for their deceptive business practices and over billing. When I canceled my subscription two years ago, I still had a month left on it, but they stopped delivery and never gave me a credit. Since then I have been receiving all kinds of offers which are of the “buyer beware” type. The latest is home delivery on Thursday and Sunday for one year at $17.76. No delivery for almost a month. My elderly dad was calling every day. They said it would be redelivered but NEVER. Now today they took $75 out of his account. Every time I call they said they would look into it. He loves reading his paper in the morning. But no paper, several complaints and calls but yet the Courant is charging this disgusting amount.
I have been double billed by the Hartford current for a month.. Current bill ran through 7/9… now being billed from 6/2 through 8/31. I have called twice and still they billed my credit card. They say sorry sorry but continue to double charge. Not sure who to report it too.
Delivery issues have been ongoing for over 1 year. This newspaper is advertised as a Morning Edition. It would be more accurately advertised as a "Whenever Edition"! Although I read multiples news entries online I, being an "older subscriber" look forward to handling and reading a newsprint product as part of my "morning" routine. The Hartford Courant is not inexpensive. I can appreciate the difficulty in delivery, but I wonder if Management would prefer to just offer digital news!!!
I signed up for the hartford courant through October 2023. I was alerted in January that I had an overdue balance. They said it was a mistake but then said my current subscription would end in April due to the ability for Hartford Courtant to set any edition price at any time billed back to the customer. I cancelled my 1 year subscription only after a few months in April 2023. Hartford Courant is now seeking additional money for their calculation on when my 1 year subscription would end early.
