The Courant issue is full of ads, keeps skipping to other items when accessing an article and renews without permission. I went from hardly every being able to read on-line at pennies a month to $15.96 prepaid per month. The paper, when I could pull it up on screen, is not worth all the annoyance. I do not recommend this at all for any price.
We put a vacation hold on our Thursday & Sunday delivery May 11th & 14th. To restart on 5/18. We have not received a newspaper since. That's 5 missing newspapers! We've called & we were promised a delivery the next day - but never received a paper. We've corresponded by email at least 3 times & while they are apologetic, still no paper. We ordered the Hartford Courant on May 20, 2023 to receive the paper every day. We were charged $77.74 for 26 weeks which they immediately took from our checking account. As of this date, May 29, 2023 we have not received the paper. We have called every day and each time the person on the phone guaranteed that the paper would arrive the next day, which never happened. Have had only one paper delivered in the last 5 days. Supposedly has been escalated to the contract person. This has been an ongoing issue since December. No local number to call to resolve. Every customer service call goes to an out of country call center.
Over the last year I saw my subscription price increase 66%. There were numerous non deliveries. And at least half no replacement or credit. January of this year I called to cancel as being retired I could not handle these increases and the poor service. I was offered $12.87 every 13 weeks for Thursday and Sunday paper. I accepted and this past Friday I was informed that they were increasing my subscription price to $19.34 and no Thursday paper. Extremely poor delivery - At least 20 days a year no paper and no redelivery when requested. This is our 5th day without paper. Family member is blind in one eye with poor eyesight in the other eye. I would give them zero stars if I could. We have been a customer for 30 years. We lost our delivery person who could not afford to deliver the paper due to the low wages and impact on her vehicle. She was incredible. Then we stopped receiving the paper. Had to call every day for two weeks. Same canned script as the other comments. Today the customer service person laughed as she said I said her script before she could. Why must the Hartford Courant send junk mail (******* *********? I asked repeatedly - politely at first - but they tell me to ,"just throw it away." I say, JUST STOP SENDING IT. Delivery problem with the Hartford Courant . Almost every week I have experienced no daily newspaper being delivered to my home. My delivery person has been excellent and reliable for years but during this past year the newspaper has not been delivered .when you contact customer service the recording cuts in and out and if you are transferred overseas.
