I have been a long time customer for the Hartford Courant (since 1997). I have always paid for a 7 day a week delivery of the Courant. Since early March 2024 I have only received 50% of the paid for editions. Every day I have reported the non delivery problem. I have talked to real people and also the Courant robot . They say that they are crediting my account but I never get a statement so I don't know if they credit me or not, In any case, I want the paper to be delivered daily as per our agreement. The Courant is consistently unable to deliver the newspaper. My account is for a 4 day delivery. It is rare to receive every day. Missed papers are constant. Now I can't even have the Courant credit my account because they have changed their website. There is a virtual chat which sends you to talk with an actual living person for $5. No way will I pay to report a missed delivery. Horrible service - rather NO SERVICE. Completely unacceptable with no recourse.

If only there was a zero star rating! The Hartford Courant is riddled with issues from delivery, billing and customer service. They literally have zero clue how to run a business. I canceled my subscription today after decades, recently went from 7-days to 2-days a week for delivery yet I continued to be charged over $300. AND, customer service will not change or cancel my subscription until after March 2, how to they have this right? When did they become my decision makers? Their customer service is awful. Every time I need to extend my subscription, I get an invoice with a higher cost. I call customer service and they always adjust the price. This time, February 20th, I made the mistake of giving my credit card info on the phone. I was charged $25.52 more than the agreed amount. I was assured that could never happen as all calls are recorded and we agreed on one price. Lies. I have contacted my credit card company. I just moved to CT and my home receives the paper from Hartford courant. I've called 4 times now to remove my house from the mailing list. Customer service hardly speaks English and doesn't take my privacy into consideration, I'm not sure what's so hard about stopping service, especially since this would save the company money. Canceled the Courant years ago now I find them in my driveway and on my back yard lawn please have them stop

We have been customers for years. Now we are subscribed to Thursday and Sunday (they did away with Thursday through Sunday). Our Hartford Courant Box deteriorated years ago, but the Courant is no longer replacing boxes. Delivery has been an ongoing problem. So far this month we have not received two Thursday papers and two Sunday papers. When we call we are told that the paper will be delivered later that day or the next day, but it never is. The Hartford Courant's customer retainment processes are frustrating and illegal. In my experience, the company has made the ability to cancel a digital subscription via online account settings broken, forcing subscribers to have to call customer service and engage in a deceptive process that does not provide clear and valid offramps to cancel a subscription.
