I cancelled my gym membership on 3/20/18 with my last payment due on 3/23/18. I was still charged the following two months. After sending them a copy of my cancellation form, I was ignored for week until I resent the email. I was informed that I would only receive a refund for one month rather than the 2 I was wrongly charged for.

This company is absolutely a scam and they are equivalent to thief. I tried to cancel my Retro Fitness East Meadow Membership after I honored the agreement. I also sent a written cancellation request through USPS Certified Mail Service on 3/7/2018 and received the return tag days later. However, they are now still billing me, without any reason!!! Effective May 14, 2018, Mr. ******* account was cancelled with nothing further due. A letter confirming cancellation has been sent to him for his records.
They make it almost impossible to cancel your membership. To cancel my children's memberships to Fitness 2000 required emails, a certified letter and copies birth certificates sent to prove they were under age, which was in their paperwork when they were signed up. Simply ridiculous and the customer service representatives are rude and unhelpful unless you are making a payment. That is about the only time you can actually speak to one. In April of 2017 the gym at which I was a member was closed; I was told I could send a certified letter requesting that my membership was cancelled. ABC Financial informed me that my contract stated that they could find me a suitable replacement within 10 miles. They found a gym about 4 miles from my home. This is a crooked company that will do anything for more money and if I had read all the bad reviews across the internet I would have never joined. I requested for my account to be cancelled in November and not being charged that month I went on a nice vacation in December to find out that they made 3 separate transactions just in that month. I have continually called ABC Financial to resolve my membership fee with them. I am unemployed, in college and have no anytime fitness (the gym associated with ABC Financial) all the money they have taken out of my account has been money for groceries from my parents and or my refund check that I keep in savings for emergencies.
