They " handle" retro fitness accounts. The last time I signed a contract for this gym was in 2015 for two years. My contract expired in 2017/ early. 2018. Tell me why I now have, on September 11th, 2019, 284 dollars worth of collections for an account that was not renewed for 2018 but yet the date on my credit report states June 2018. Per the terms of the agreement you signed with *************, after the initial term your account would automatically renew on a month to month basis until a 60 day written cancellation notice is received. 2019 most shady company winner! My anytime account was put on goldbrick last December, ABC financial placed an unauthorized charge on my card for $49.49 on February 2nd and then another unauthorized charge was made on my card August 30th for $58.99. When I emailed ABC Financial about this issue, they told me that the charges were for late and service fees. This company has horrible customer service. They do the billing for my gym membership. My credit card was lost stolen and as soon as I got my new card I tried to update. Unfortunately my local gym does not answer their phones. When you contact ABC unless you have your contract number you cant update your information. More importantly, if you do not have your contract number you cant speak with a customer service representative. Why do ya'll make people jump through hoops to cancel and account? Your own website says it can be done online but there is not place to do so. I wrote an email with all the necessary information...not it needs to be certified mail. Nobody has time to do all this just to cancel a gym membership. It is not meant to inconvenience the member but to ensure the requests is received and the member has proof the request was sent. Terrible business practices. They make it nearly impossible to cancel a membership. They require a letter sent by certified mail with specific details included. After gathering all of this information I sent in the letter and unfortunately they just kept on charging me. So its a year later and they are still saying we don't have your letter on file and that its up to me to send another one. I am currently disputing charges and cutting them off from my AMEX. Hello Josh, It is not unusual for a club to require the cancellation request be sent in writing. Sending by certified mail allows for the request to be tracked to avoid this type of issue. Do you have the tracking number available to verify your letter was received by ABC? If so, please submit to *************@abcfinancial.com so your cancellation may be backdated.

I am a member of Anytime Fitness in Coralville, IA. I like the gym and the people who run it. ABC Financial however is a total scam business. I used had money auto-withdrawn from my old bank account. I automatically paid every month for 2 years with no problem. I switched bank accounts and called to update my billing information on 6/14/2019. My bill wasn't due until 6/15/2019. Hello Jonathan, Being that the request to update your draft information was not made until 4pm on 6/14/19, the account was already in the draft file for the 15th and the system did not have time to update. The fee was waived as a one time courtesy as you are now aware a few business days are needed for this type of change. I apologize you were not offered the option to pay your bill at that time to ensure your new card was drafted.
The only way to cancel a gym membership handled by them is to mail a written request to their p o box in Arkansas 30 days before the next payment is due. This is a completely unreasonable way to do business. I sent out a letter 1 day late and they said there is nothing they can do, I will be charged for another month which I will not use at all. Brendan, Most health clubs request a cancellation notice to be sent in writing. Your agreement should indicate the kind of notice that is to be given to discontinue the service - most clubs ask for at least 30 days notice and you are responsible for any payments that arise during that time. This is the worst company I've ever dealt with! I went to Anytime Fitness in Maryland. All of the sudden my key fob stopped working. My original card on the account was cancelled due to fraudulent charges. My husband had an account with them also. His card had expired and he never updated it. This is the same card that we were drafting for your husband since his membership started in February 2018.
