My husband and I refinanced our home with Guild Mortgage last January. Our loan officer Glen H****** was fabulous!! Glen helped us thorough the process every step of the way- explaining anything we did not understand. He was patient-not pushy when it came to getting certain documents in order to move our file forward. It was a quick and painless process. We financed our 1st time home loan and received wrong information from the lender. We were told by the lender that a 80/10/10 loan is illegal in Oregon. 2 years later when our friends went to purchase their home with another company they are doing the 80/10/10 loan. We told them you can't and we were wrong. Secondly, my husband sent an email to our lender a little over a year after we purchased the home to see if us getting married and I receiving a raise would have any effect on our interest rate. I chose to finance my recent home purchase in Portland, OR via Guild Mortgage and it was an absolute disaster. Guild Mortgage doesn't understand the severity of the situation of home-buying. This is the biggest investment in a typical persons life and they treat it with utter disregard and lack of empathy for how you feel. Unfortunately, we used Guild Mortgage Company to purchase our First Home. Without a doubt Guild ruined our First Home Buying Experience and drained all of the joy out of buying our very first home. Terrible experience with Jeanne ******. She was highly recommended by friends but I am giving her one star. She told me up front that it would take 6 weeks from start to finish to get done with a refinance. 30 days into the refinance, we had still no appraisal done nor had anyone called to schedule one. I kept having to call her to get updates and she just kept giving me excuse after excuse about why it was taking so long. A word to the wise BEWARE of this company! I read the reviews and still ignored the reviews and worked with this company. Worst decision I could have made. I had a loan for a property and the seller did not like the lender because the appraisal firm was going to give him a lower value then he wanted. So, he asked me to switch to Guild mortgage because they said they could have it done in 3-4 weeks. I have 70,000 debt and I make 32.00 an hour. 50,000 of the debt is college loans.
