On October 21, 2025 I reserved a car from Green Motion in Tampa, Florida. At pickup the rate was almost three times what I originally booked, and I was forced to purchase their insurance despite holding two full-coverage policies. They tacked on more than $290 in additional charges without warning. Tampa Airport, FL, USA- DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! Their practices are unethical. Beware of them on Priceline too. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Facility is off the airport campus. Once there, they corner you with a 2000.00 deposit and a car insurance plan requirement that is so far above typical, my insurance agent was surprised by it when called over the phone. When I arrived to pick up the car, my flight had been delayed by approximately one hour. Upon arrival, Green Motion refused to release the vehicle, stating that my reservation had been canceled due to the delay — even though it was a confirmed, prepaid booking. They stated if I had called to cancel the reservation, they would refund me, but it would have been impossible for me to call due to the fact that I was on an aircraft. SCAM!! Do not rent from them!! Should be zero stars!! They will not accept full coverage insurance & make you get unlimited liability insurance on top of what we already paid. It was already over $300 then another $223 when we got there. Then $300 ok a card in case we damaged the **** box they rented us! The car was a Mazda that had severe damage to it. Looked to have been in a flood! The plates were expired back in April & it’s now September!! What legitimate place does that???? I have photos of the entire car damaged!
???BEWARE – DO NOT RENT FROM GREEN MOTION??? Green Motion Car and Van Rental uses bait-and-switch tactics. I booked online a week before my trip (end of July 2025) and paid in advance. The rental website clearly stated: “Customers intending to self-insure our vehicles must produce sufficient proof of auto insurance, including comprehensive and collision coverage. Not 1 but Zero. Total scam on pricing. They require massive insurance that people just dont carry. This is so you have to purchase their OVERPRICED insurance. It was double what i was to even pay for the car. They need to be forced to post ALL these legit reviews on their website for people to see. Not just the 4-5 good ones. There appears to be 1200 + bad ones. Please take action against this company.
deserves no star - Left Stranded at the Shuttle pickup area of TPA International. Called 8 Times, No answer, went to voice mail "mailbox full" forced to Use reputable Rental Company at the tune of $360 more expense on my 4 day trip. prepaid through priceline.com Lesson learned 1) do not use Priceline for Plane, Hotel, car rental on the cheap. What looked like a great deal turned out to be a nightmare

Deserves ZERO stars. Horrible customer service. They said I would receive my security deposit back with in 7-10 business days. I returned the car over a month ago and have yet to get it back. I called several times and was told they had not received the statements from the tolls yet. I waited a couple more weeks to call back. When I did call back there was either no answer or they hung up on me when I started to tell them why I was calling.
