Interesting but mediocre appetizers; hello, service anyone? – I took my sister and her boyfriend to Grace on a Saturday night for her birthday. We were seated right away and the host said happy birthday to her, which I thought was nice. We waited about 10 minutes looking at menus before the server showed up to take our drink orders. After taking our drink orders we waited another 10 minutes before the server returned with the drinks to take our order. We ordered the squash blossoms, trio of fish, foi gras, and short ribs wit... read more
Can't beat the beets...or the grilled tempeh – Grace is a refreshing departure from the numerous high end hot spots that charge you through the nose for a couple of peas and a fingerling potato on a plate. The diverse and inventive dishes are both delicious and hearty despite what look to be skimpy portions. Great vegetarian options like the beet salad and grilled tempeh. Our informative and amicable waiter felt like an old friend by the meal's conclusion. In addition, the minimalist but warm ambience of Grace offers a lot o... read more
Great experience, although the food and service was not what I expected – I had reservations for Grace on a Saturday evening and was seated somewhat promptly even though the restaurant was practically empty. The wine list was not very extensive, but I was still able to enjoy a nice glass from their selection. The food was delicious and their portions were to my surprise quite generous. However, there isn't anything special about the food beyond that, and in my opinon it was a bit overpriced. The service was average, and the ... read more
Grace adds a little posh to Beverly Blvd.... – Beautiful space, great service and extremely interesting cuisine. The food was good but only one of four dishes(party of 4) was spectacular.... service was great and the wine choices although not as vast as I anticipated was great (had a nice Shiraz). Dessert was the strong point of the meal and our server even gave us a bag of pastries to go....thanks!!! Overall experience was great but I really thought the food would stand out a little more....I would recommend this restaurant... read more
Great food, horrible service – When food is adventurous, delicious and beautifully prepared as it as at Grace, and the setting is elegant and tasteful, it's really jarring and disappointing when the service is beyond incompetent. Our group of four arrived on time for our reservation last Friday, but were forced to wait more than an hour for a table. It was about 30 minutes before we were even acknowledged and promised an appetizer and then another 30 minutes before said appetizer arrived. The explanation an embarassed maitre... read more
Totally unexpected... Negatively – i went to Grace for the first time w/ my boyfriend for his company's holiday party this past wknd. before we went, we read about the restaurant on Citysearch, as well as checking out Grace's own website. everything looks great, and giving us a very impressive and high expectation before we went. to our full disappointment, our holiday dinner party came out extremely unimpressive at all. i'm not sure if it's due to the fact that we were at a banquet, or is Grace normally this bad as well. le... read more
The BEST.... – I have eaten in almost ALL the restaurants around Los Angeles but Grace is by far the most superior is EVERY WAY! This resturant seats you on time no matter how busy they are, the service is fabulous, attentive but unobtruisve, and the food is to die for! They have something for everyone on the menu and can tweek a dish to account for allergies, etc., etc. This is the restaurant to take your guests from out of town to dine at, and one you should frequent if you are looking for fabulous service and food. Service, presentation and food all outstanding – This is becoming one of our favorite dinner spots when we visit LA. We had a great dinner last Friday, seated promptly (with reservations), very helpful waitstaff who basically selected our entire set of dinners for us. The prosciutto-wrapped figs baked with blue cheese appetizer was unusual and delicious, the presentations were artistic, and the people-watching was good too (we may have been the only touristas).
food was not what I expected – I heard so many good things about this restaurant so I had to check it out. The decor was beautiful and the service was great however the food sucked. Maybe I went on a bad night but the hot dishes were not hot and came out in less than 5 minutes which made me wonder if I had gotten someones cancelled dish. The flavors of all the dishes were terrible.
