like everyone says, this place is highly recommended! good food, good service, and good desert that everyone is worth trying once or become a regular!
Cozy atmosphere w/ great food – I checked out Grace on the Friday right before Valentine's Day and I was pleasantly surprised. I had not heard too much about Grace but the food was rich and savory and the service was impressive. We sat in the back room which was quaint and cozy. I had a great time and was stuffed by the time we left.
Fine Dining without the attitude – Atmosphere, service, decor, and especially the food is amazingly understated and well done - top notch LA restaurant that is REFRESHINGLY excellent in service without the attitude and also without being suffocatingly pretentious (no distracting ritualistic ceremonies like others). Grace takes service and flavor seriously without taking itself too seriously.
Cool Place – It was the Saturday preceeding Easter, so it was only fitting that I opt for the saddle of rabbit. It had a rich sauce that I enjoyed. I find most desserts boring in LA. They overdo the presentation in order to compensate for lack of a rich or complex flavor. But, got to get the jelly doughnuts. The dessert is just too cool to pass and it didn't disappoint.
Do not follow the herd – Lordy, did we want to like this place. We had to make reservations a month in advance. The room is gorgeous -- understated and calm. Service was nice -- we had to wait at the bar, but the hosts were gracious. And our waiter was very nice. What's the problem? The food. Everything we had was overdone -- what I think of as "finicky food". All sorts of things cut into tiny pieces -- unrecognizable -- with sauce covering it all up. overrated is an understatement – theres such a huge buzz on this place so we checked it out. no problem getting a reservation in fact some of the tables remained empty throughout our meal. the space is well done and our server was excellent but the food was either over flavored or under flavored. They couldnt get it just right i tasted from everyone at my table so it wasnt just my dish.. thats too bad we were hoping to like it.
Wonderful Meal – The service was outstanding, the meal was amazing and the ambieance is comfortable...finally a restaurant that is classy and hip without the Hollywood B.S.
A little disappointing – The space is beautiful, the staff is courteous, the service exquisite, but sadly the food just wasn't that good. The appetizers were good but none of us were very happy with our main courses (table of four). The pork was dry and the duck a little chewy. I don't think it's worth going back which is sad because we were excited about finding a new haunt. I think I'll stick to Lucques and Angelini Osteria.
Fantastic – We were visiting our daughter at college and decided to try Grace for the first time. The meal was one of the best we have had in a long time. The service helpful and friendly. It is a little noisy, but the back room wasn't too bad.
