Wonderful – Whenever I come to Chicago whether it be business or fun I make a point of dining at Gibson's. I love the food and the service. The only thing I have ever had a problem with is reservations. They forgot to put us down and we are from out of town and they made a point to get us right in after a little hissy!!! But, I will continue to go there everytime I'm in Chicago. Well, worth a little wait.
Not worth the wait. – This place is overrated to the max! We had reservations and they still didn't seat us until 2 hours upon arrival. We asked when we would get seated approx 5 times, and they kept pushing us back. They were completely rude and inconsiderate. The steaks were overcooked and the entire bar was so busy it was uncomfortable to sit and enjoy a drink. Rest of food was good, but not worth money or wait. Go to Sullivan's!
NO WAY – overcooked steaks, service is so so! and the wait was too long.
In-Spot with great food – Gibson's is without a doubt the best place in Chicago to see the "pretty people", and get a great Steak. The bar is always crowded, but people watching is worth it.
over priced, nothing special – Gibson's in Rosemont has meat no better than anywhere else. Service is good, mashed potatoes are dry. Did not honor request for non-smoking and sat us near the only people smoking in the restaurant. This restaurant is over priced, and is not worth what you pay. Would not go to again
Place to be seen – Best stake ever!! Best place to been seen or to see others! Must make reservations ahead, and plan on arriving at least 40 minutes before your reservation time, otherwise you will wait between 20 minutes to 1 hour or more. Very crowded, but worth thre wait....Trust me!
Big food for BIG prices – Individual portions too large for a small family with prices more expensive than mortgages on small suburban bungalows. High quality meats and vegeatables help you stomach the check. A little too loud and way too hip -- don't come here for any meal that needs even a little bit of intimacy.
Great atmosphere, average steak. – Their steak is average, but it's a fun, loud place.
what am i missing? – the service is better than the food. I've been 3 times each time thinking that the next time will be better. Great service, but was not impressed with the food. prefer G & G, or S & W.
