top line – Great food and great service. The waiter Mohamed is terrific: funny, informed, efficient. No need for a menu. Mo will tell you what to eat. Overall, just a great experience.
the only one – i visit chicago at least once a minth and that is first restaurant i goto eat. i never have a bad meal there. the food always comes prepared the way i ordered it . it is the best.
steak! – Gibson's is the best in the Midwest. The food is well done - but may be hurried. Service is what can be expected from one of the most popular venues of it's type in the City. Excellent!
We went the Gibsons by the rosemont and the noise in the room was so loud. You couldn't hear the person across the table.
LIKE BUTTER! – It was a rare steak lovers dream! A thick rib eye cooked to perfection. Crispy and brown on the outside, once cut open wonderfully rare to almost raw in the middle but steaming HOT! The texture and flavor was awsome, just melted in my mouth. Best steak I ever had. I don't think this steak experience can every be duplicated for me, but I definitely can not wait to try again next time I'm in Chicago. And I will be back!
Flashy but overated – This place is packed with suburbanites who spend more time shopping labels than content. Definately cramped. I tasted chemical tenderizers in the rare Porterhouse. I sat next to Frankie Avalon. He ate a huge Ceaser salad. Best choice on the menu. Too many annoying yuppies. Not one of the restaurants I moved back into the city to experience. Bathroom not very clean.
Chicago Prime was the best steakhouse I have ever been too. They are one of the best in the US, I was suprised to see they didn't even make your list. GET THEE TO CHICAGO PRIME!
great place, great meal, great city – great place for a great meal in a great city. it is very expensive, but the overall experience of dining at a classy place like this is worth it. fantastic place for out of towners to throw a few dollars around while on vacation, or for locals to spend special occasions at. as far as fancy, ritzy-glitzy restaurants go, this one takes the cake.
no taste – i love the bar at gibson's, but the steaks have little flavor and the sides aren't all that great.
