Good food, too crowded – Gibsons is obiously a Chicago landmark, and for that, it stands to reason that there is a lot of interest in the restaurant. It's almost impossible to get a reservation, but if you do, the food is great. My only complaint is that we couldn't get reservations for months. Aside from that, the food is great, but I think there are other comparable places, too, without the 9:30 PM dinner.
GREAT BAR – You will always have a great time at this restaurant. The bar is always lively with wonderful bartenders. The steaks and deserts are fantastic.
Fantastic Steak and great atmosphere – Just went to Gibsons last week for the first time and I definitely am going to go back. The atmosphere there is very nice and the steak was great! The service we received was also top notch as the servers went out of their way to make sure our dining experience was perfect.
Best Steak in Chicago! – Granted it's only my opinion, but I've been to steakhouses not only across the U.S., but across the world and Gibson's is hands-down the best steak. The ambience is classic old-school Chicago and the drinks and wines are delicous.
Best food I had in Chicago! – Made reservations for 11 on a Thurday night. We were seated promptly by a polite hostess. The ambience of the restaurant is an old Chicago style restaurant packed with lively people. Bottom line, the place was busy but you still got a lot of attention from the staff. Unbelievable Good Food, Fabulous Service – I recently had my first visit to Chicago, and visited the Famous Gibsons Steakhouse. It was like entering an A list bar with beautiful singles everywhere you turned. This place had a fantastic buzz. The food was top notch, and the service was the best I've had. Server's name was Joan, she had a fantastic smile, and was very knowledgeable about the food and the history of the restaurant. I will make sure my next visit to Chicago will entail another great trip to Gibsons.
Best steakhouse in Chicago! – If you are looking for a great place to impress friends or family then Gibsons is just the place for you! I have dined here twice now and both experiences were out of this world! The service is beyond amazing from the hostesses, to the bussers to the servers to the managers! Best steaks in Chicago, bar none! – I ususally try to make it to Gibsons on Rush at least a few times a year. Any time I am entertaining out of town visitors I always take them here...and they are never disappointed! My "go to" choice is the filet. Always cooked to perfection and the quality of meat is top notch. The desserts are awesome too. The chocolate mousse pie is DA BOMB! Expect it to be crowded & noisy though.
Great Place!!!! – This was my first time to Gibsons. I have always heard alot from people how great it is, but they surpassed my expectations!!! We had a group of 5 people and decided to share most of our food. Ordered the Porterhouse ( YUM! ), Lobster (for the size you get it was cooked to perfection), Baby back ribs, (Monster sized) baked potato and the sauteed spinach.
