We just got back from our 7 day trip to Peru. We have traveled 2 other times with Gate1 and each trip has been amazing. I did not enjoy all the optional tours as much as I did on the other trips (no fault of the company, just a little boring for my tastes) Our tour manager, Victor, was amazing! This man deserves a raise :) He was personable, helpful and ensured everything we needed was taken care of. He made everyone feel like family instantly! I will never hesitate to recommend Gate1.
Gate 1 went the extra mile during our hurricane stranding in Cuba Oct. 2016. I just completed my 9th different Gate 1 trip in the past 5 years. All were excellent. Last week we landed in CUBA about the same time that Hurricane Matthew hit the other end of the island. We were far enough West in Havana to be unaffected during the tour ...BUT our flight back to Miami was cancelled at the end of the trip due to the hurricane reaching Florida. Just finishing up a trip with Gate 1 to Germany, Switzerland and Austria. A great job done by Nino our guide and our driver Imi. Beautiful sites with wonderful narrative. Always felt safe and cared for.
My wife and I just completed a wonderful Gate 1 French tour of the Loire Valley and Normandy. Our tour guide, Craig Sunney, was well organized, very learned, generous with sharing French and European history, and managed all guests with respect and good humor. October 2017...Still haven't heard from Gate 1. Awful customer service. If you complain, they just hope you go away. I'm still traveling all over the world though, just not with Gate 1. Just returned from an awesome trip to Kenya with Friendly Planet, a company that understands great customer service. Just finished my 2nd Gate 1 tour to New Zealand and Australia. It was wonderful! Had such a great experience and met amazing new friends.
I will never use Gate1 Travel again. The measure of a company is seen not when things go right, but when they go wrong. I have previously traveled with Gate1 and had a successful trip. I liked it enough to recommend them to my friends. This time, we had booked a trip to Cuba. We were due to be in Cuba when Hurricane Matthew was on track to hit the island. My husband and I just returned yesterday from 14 day Gate 1 tour through Italy. It was fantastic thanks to the Gate 1 experience. We will travel with gate 1 again! Our tour manager Viviana was the best and when my husband was ill and we had the tour and catch up with them in the next city, she handled all the details and walked us thorough. 5 plus stars
15 day trip to China and Chengdu. What an incredible trip. Several reasons. 1. The sites we got to see were fantastic, the Great Wall, Terra Cotta Warriors, Forbidden city and the gardens there. 2. This trip included a bit of travel during the tour, the value and travel coordination provided by gate 1 were outstanding.
