We booked a trip to London/Paris. We couldn't get in our flight because of a personal emergency. The cost of rebooking/rerouting the trip was higher than the cost of the trip. They won't reimburse us a dime- not even the hotels (where usually if you cancel the hotel you are only charge the 1st night) and obviously not even a fraction of the return flight. Just came back from 11 Day Classic Colombia. Gate 1 Travel simply the BEST! Thanks to Juan David the tour manager who made our vacation so memorable and fantastic!
We have not even gone on our trip yet and found out that they sold us travel insurance that is not through Gate 1 but through a third party agency. We can not alter our trip or change any dates. They can cancel on us at any time and keep all of our money. Stay away. Poor customer service, fraudulent up-sele activity. I recently returned from a 12 day trip to Italy. I traveled with my sister, cousin and friend. Upon arriving to Venice in the evening, our Tour Manager Ana was anxiously waiting for us, as we were a bit late. It was a good feeling that she was concerned for our well being. Amazing, beautiful trip, we flew to cartagena, Colombia on Nov 18, 2016. My husband and I for my birthday /our Anniversary. We had a great, great time, no words to describe the service of Gate1. Our guide Victoria was wonderful, she knew what she was doing, all of our trips where very plan and on time. I have been home for a week having been on the 9 day affordable Ireland tour. Our guide was Evelyn. I cannot say enough to convey my absolute joy with her being our Guide. Her knowledge, wit, humor, and organizational skills were top notch. She absolutely made the journey with her excellent knowledge and humor. We had many unplanned stops orchestrated by her to see local honey, and a drink stop of Irish whiskey and the history behind it.
