I moved into a new house 5 years ago. I called Frontier Communications. Then do have service in my area. Lots of texts and communication and first. The day they were going to come out and install no show IO was home the whole day for this. If I could leave zero stars I would. I called and tried canceling my service in February of 2019. The rep was extremely disrespectful and rude. Interrupted me and put me on hold as I was speaking several times. I was told the last month would be prorated for the days I did not have service and she had the nerve to say that's not what that means... as if she didn't know the terminology. Payed my final balance and scheduled a disconnect due to moving out of state. 6 weeks later received a collection letter for the amount I paid when I canceled, plus a $10 late fee.
If I could give ZERO stars, that would be more appropriate! Signed up for service online, put an initial $50 deposit down. 9/23 a technician comes out and says there is literally no cable, no frontier cables ran in my neighborhood. Ok, fine, i'll stick with ********, no biggie. I call to get clarification on as to why it would let me sign up online. Had Frontier phone service for almost 7 years. Out of the 7, it may have worked 4 consistently. Everytime I turned around the phone quit working. I still paid the bill every month, hoping they would fix the old phone lines (their own repair people told me they were ancient) but no fix. They repaired it on 8/19/2021 and on 9/16/2021 it went out again. I requested a repair, they said next Tuesday, no phone for 5 days! I told them that wasn't acceptable, I wouldn't be available. This is the absolute worst internet connection I have had in over 20 years, plus they charge triple the amount of what I paid almost 20 years ago for a connection that is over 3 times slower than I had nearly 20 years ago. I was paying 40 a month for less than 1.5mb down internet and less than .5mb up, signed up 6 years ago. As time went by they kept adding 2 and 3 dollar service fees, now its up to 47 dollars a month for the same crap, unreliable slow service. STAY AWAY!
Only if no other internet provider. Get everything in writing, record every chat. I was willing not to fuss over the continued billing past request for disconnection just to be rid of the service. Unfortunately they issued a partial refund on a DEBIT CARD. To get rid of the card which arrived after 90 days from my last check—which was cashed within hours of their receipt—you have to activate the card and use it for purchase, you cannot use it for cash, no ATM. I have wasted 13 hours and counting waiting for a tech to show up and that doesn’t account for the appointment they made without telling me that they also didn’t keep.
They do not 'care' for their customers. I lost my land line phone service and internet on September 5, 2021. I do not have a cell phone but was able to give them a friend's cell number to let me know when my service would resume. I waited, and waited. Texts from Frontier were going to the cell phone 2 times a day from Frontier stating "The issue you reported is part of a service outage....thank you for your patience, ...you will receive another message once the issue is resolved."
