At the end of work yesterday I felt like I really needed to seek care for what felt like something that would put me out of the office for days. My wife suggested I try First Choice and I feel very fortunate for that advice. Every member of the FirstChoice team was welcoming, helpful, clear and friendly in their communication. I never had to be a 'patient' patient. They were prompt and professional. What a unique medical experience. Thank you
I drove to Austin New Year's Eve to spend a four-day weekend with my daughter. Unfortunately, I spent it recovering from the flu. New Year's Day I woke up with a runny nose and sneezing. A few hours later I was "freezing!" A hot shower did not help. I got in bed under multiple blankets and after shivering for about four hours I got real hot. I suffered with ultraviolet keratitis (damage to eyes due to exposure to UV light). My eyes were swollen, itchy, watery, very painful and extremely light sensitive. My husband took me to the First Choice Emergency Room near Arboretum at 2 am. Fortunately there was no wait time. The nurse on duty was very polite and nice. He recorded my vitals and asked me if I was feeling cold or any discomfort and needed a blanket or something. The doctor on duty Dr. Edward Spitz attended me in less than 10 min. Took our daughter in one evening for possible concussion. Medical Staff was friendly and they were able to examine and diagnose her very quickly. Luckily she did not have concussion but staff was very helpful in advising what to look for and what we should do if condition changed. It was my first experience at an Urgent Care/Emergency care clinic, and and I would definitely return. My three boys were running around outside just as I was starting to grill some dinner on a nice Sunday evening. Suddenly, I heard the youngest screaming and crying. The other two brought him inside. I asked what happened. He had fallen head first on the driveway. Then, we noticed a huge bump on his forehead that was turning black. It was scary. Before heading to First Choice Emergency Room on Jollyville, here's what happened: Went to two other emergency clinics after breaking my toe. Pouring down rain, and too much pain. The first one located at Rockwood and Burnet, had a recording saying they were open until 4pm. But when I got there ata 2pm, they were closed. It was a Saturday. Great Experience. I had to bring my two boys ages 7 and 10 in due to severe dehydration. The staff was friendly, efficient and very considerate of my family's needs. I would definitely return if I have another emergency.
I am visiting in Austin to help my daughter and son-in-law care for their 2 1/2 year old daughter and newborn twins. I got sick with a sore throat and cough and wasn't sure if I was contagious or should be around the babies.
