Many believe that Abe Doumar, founder of Doumar's Cones & Barbecue, gave the world its first ice cream cone. Doumar was a traveling salesman retailing paperweights at the famous St. Louis World's Fair in 1904. When an ice cream seller exhausted his stock of paper dishes to hold the ice creams, he got a nearby waffle maker to roll his waffles into cones and thus invented the waffle cone. First time there and all I can say is wow!!! The atmosphere is great and the food is even better.
The best place to bring out of town guests .. and when they go home go back for a BBQ, Fries and Limeade. Don't forget the ice cream cone for dessert !!!!!
I had a great experience. Everything was great Food and service was as good as you can expect. They serve NC style BBQ which is the best! If you want the old school vintage Drive in experience that has so much history. Then no other place exist in VA

We just moved to the area and saw it as we were driving by and decided to give it a try. The waitress didn't seem to want to take our order but in trying to seem like she was being a good hostess said if we needed anything to let her know, but very quickly took off. I am a South Carolina native and a good pulled pork sandwich is something to savor, not here. There was zero sauce on the minced meat and none available to put on it.
