Many believe that Abe Doumar, founder of Doumar's Cones & Barbecue, gave the world its first ice cream cone. Doumar was a traveling salesman retailing paperweights at the famous St. Louis World's Fair in 1904. When an ice cream seller exhausted his stock of paper dishes to hold the ice creams, he got a nearby waffle maker to roll his waffles into cones and thus invented the waffle cone. Fridays are a special day for my dad and me. He looks forward to everything about going to Doumar’s — especially the people! Thank-you.
My husband and I ate there yesterday for lunch. I had the barbecue which was not very good and my husband had a hamburger which he said was okay. We did have some ice cream which was pretty good. The service was terrible and the waitress was rude. The place smelled when we walked in like the sewer was backed up. When I was sitting in the booth I was looking around at all the best pictures on the walls. I wonder what the Doumar men would think about their staff today?? It's very sad!!

Great little place with burgers, dogs, pork BBQ, and ice cream. Family friendly and great staff!
Food was good for the price. Really inexpensive place to eat at. The feel of the restaurant was alright. I really enjoyed their limeade and ice cream cone. I'd come again for a cheap meal.
