Decent location and standard rooms. Front desk staff could care less.

Checked out yesterday and we were pleased with our room. We got what we paid for: nothing fancy but a good, comfortable, clean place to get some much needed rest. The room was larger than we expected, which was good for NY. There were only two things that weren't 100% for us. Firstly, the $50 charge a night, that you pay upfront (rather than just leaving your card details like many other Hilton branches we've stayed in) was very steep. As a Hilton Honors Gold I was a little disappointed with the Doubletree. I stayed there in June and got a great rate so I cannot really complain. I appreciated the upgrade to the Hilton level floor and the view was amazing. It is a nice hotel. It is not the Waldorf but it is way better than the W. However having to pay extra for the hot breakfast buffet was disappointing. Also having to pay to store my luggage was off putting. I realize that this is probably because a lot of Europeans stay here and unlike American's they do ... read more
