I am currently staying here just now & have 10 days left of my vacation . I am dreading leaving my room this morning as there. Is an event on & they have taken over the hotel . My wee boy can't get near the pool & we are struggling to get in the elevator . We can use no facilties due to the vast amount of people here for the event . There is also refurbishment on going that we were not advised about & it's certainly not a patch on Hilton @ sea world . I think it really depends on what your expecting. This hotel is nice but not really what you'd be expecting for a DoubleTree. Our room was clean, we had a great view, and the beds were comfortable. It is dated and needs updates. The staff is very friendly and helpful!! The pool and hot tub are awesome! There's also a Starbucks in the lobby! If you're going to Universal the walk isn't bad at all!!
Rates dropped for renovating should be their first priority. We were on the 15th floor and the room was very damp. All three of us woke up with sore throats. I think their must be a mold problem. The staff was the best part of our stay. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. We were there for a dance convention. We signed up as members, but I'm hoping for improvements when we return. The pool area was absolutely beautiful and my favorite feature was Starbucks.
It was a great experience staying here!!! The Employees were great,& Philip from the restaurant was awesome. Overall! We was happy with our stay here..
In an excellent position a short walk away from universal or you can get free bus provided with the most friendly drivers! The bus to Disney is very expensive so we used a local taxi company as the hotel taxis were very very expensive too! I would have given this hotel a 5* if items hadn't have gone missing from our room during our stay so I would definitely recommend you use safe however I have been refunded for the items but I was very disappointed that this happened. I'm a frequent traveler and always stay at Hilton Hotels and I'm also a Hilton HHonor member. This stay I wanted to make a memorable vacation with my granddaughters made the reservation a few weeks before and two days before my arrival they drop the rates by $26 per night. After several phone calls I was told that speak with a manager a the registration desk and they will adjust the rate. After a 20 minutes arguing with the from desk and the manager on desk.
