I have been a DISH customer for 15 years with various packages, from expensive to the least expensive, since we are now senior citizens. We have had the "old" receiver all this time until lately when it started giving us trouble. I called DISH to tell them about it. The lady on the phone said I would need a new receiver without even having someone look at it. I didn't go for that and called again. Almost every show I record stops recording 1 to 2 minutes before the end of the show

I was a current costomer who's DVR went out and when i called they talked me into getting a new hopper 3 but I would have to sign another 2 year contract I thought ok I've been a customer for a long time no big deal. Wrong!!! Recently changed my plan over to the next one up under my account with Dish, after 15+ years I had been on a welcome pack that is no longer sold. I decided to switch over and turn in some equipment that was not being used. I did the calculations and it seemed to be budget friendly for me so I made the switch. The following day which is today, I checked my account and the price had gone up (local channels) extra $12, the agent never mentioned, the new flex plan I had switched to also went up from $37.99 to $42.99. When I signed up with dish I made sure they had Fox Sports South so I could watch my favorite hockey team. They had that channel and were cheaper than direct tv. Since I signed up that channel has been blacked out due to a dispute between dish and fox. I have missed half the season. I would have never signed up for dish if I knew this would happen. I'm stuck in this contract til July of 2021.

I am extremely angry that I am still paying $13 a month for local channels when I am missing 50% of the locals in my area. We no longer have NBC and CW because Dish can't come to an agreement with our provider. This has been going on for 4 months. Most of the shows we watch are on NBC and CW. When I call, they offer a one-time $5 credit. What a joke. I figure I have paid Dish approximately $43,200 in the last 24 years and you offer a one-time $5 credit. Thanks, but no thanks. Make it right or lose a loyal customer.

Dish Network is using false advertising to promote their "Hopper". They get you started after they refuse to update your DVR with a new DVR, saying there are no new DVR's and you must install the Hopper and the accompanying "Joey's" When you try to set up your downloading schedule, you find you have LESS service than the old DVR and, as I am hearing impaired, you go through heck trying to get the closed captioning to work.
