I signed up for Dish over the phone. I am a 67 year old active chemo patient wanting to add some in home entertainment during our current pandemic. My tech was polite & timely. When I went to watch my first movie the next morning, I got the message that the satellite was disconnected. It was snowing in Denver. We sold one of our rental house properties out of state last October 2019. Dish said will the new owners call in? I said, probably, I don't know but I am calling to let you know that I sold the property and am no longer affiliated with that property. Called to upgrade my internet because of school closing for the virus and they refused to upgrade without forcing me into a two year contract. Would not help me at all. As a teacher and mother of four I needed the additional internet in order to do my job successfully and my kids complete their school work successfully. Terrible with every one helping each other they refused. Woah I could get internet any where else.
Don’t waste your time or money. Consumers BEWARE. I was treated like trash from day one of trying to acquire services. Buckle up cause here it goes. Mar. 13 2020 my services were scheduled to installed between 12pm-5pm which didn’t happen. The technician claims he was at my home at 12:20 and no one was home, which is a absolute LIE!!!!!!! We live in an apartment complex built in 2016. Well after the hopper receivers were released. My apartment complex is in a deal with Dish Network to make it so we can not have any other service installed and have to pay a monthly payment to them. My issue? Dish did NOT set our apartment complex up to be compatible with the Hopper line of receivers. Instead, we were given a non DVR VIP system from Dish. Crooks!! 15 dollats for receiver,15 dollars to have DVR let's not mention the late fee is 10 dollars oh wait if you need time to pay it's another 15 did I mention it's another 12 dollars for local channels which I really don't understand the 12 dollar's for local channels when you can purchase an over the air antenna and the channels are totally free
called into Dish to cancel account when I sold my resort rental property last year Unfortunately, Instead of cancelling it Dish kept my account open and continued to use my credit card I had on file. They said the account was left open so that the account would be transferred to the new owners. Well, The new owners never called in. If I could give zero stars I would. When I initially got Dish over 7 years ago I started at 49.99$ a month on thier misleading 2 year locked in agreement. Not even 6 months later the price goes up to 60$ which was explained as an "insurance discount". Here and there it slowly would increase to about 90$ Next I agreed to another 2 year locked in rate at about 75$ cause that I thought was a discount from the 90$ they were charging. I am not a customer, but wanted to be. Yesterday, I tried to order Dish Network services for my home. They refused to offer their services because my sister has an outstanding issue with them. MY SISTER! I told them that that had nothing to do with me requesting services. If and when my sister resolves her issue with Dish, I will not seek their services. Thank you for making my mind up.
