Crush even the name is delicious! – I have been here on several occasions. I have been here with my husband, it was valentines day last year, which was absolutely amazing. For Valentines day, you do need to get a reservation fairly far in advance, but hey there?s only so many seats in a restaurant! Regardless, last Valentines Day was amazing, the presentation, the tasting menu, the wine pairings, the service, we loved everything about it. I also tend to come here with my girlfriends, sometimes we sit at the bar, or a table, ... read more
#1 restaurant in Seattle -- best food, best wine, best overall experience – I have visited Crush on many occasions since they opened, and I felt that I needed to update my review of this restaurant. I am blown-away by the food at Crush. Sometimes the service staff is not as attentive or fabulous as you might want, but I don't think there are many restaurants in Seattle who I could honestly say have better service. The food is what you come for, though. Nevermind the price, really. The food is worth it, and I'm still surprise... read more
Pretentious – The food was really good. The service was average. It's definitely a place where the young and upcoming want to see and be seen. I found the feel of it fascinating for a Madison/Capitol Hill restaurant. The young patrons were over-dressed (for Seattle) and happy to be there. We, a party of two, walked in with reservations (on time) and were told it would be "5 minutes" though there were two "two tops" that were open. We ordered drinks, and after slightly more than 5 minutes we were seated, before our drinks wer... read more
User review by vickielidz – This is the best restaurant that Seattle has. Right when you walk in, you can see that although the restaurant might be small, the staff welcomes all that come throught the door. The staff has unbelievable knowledge of the dinner menu, desserts, etc. They are very respectul and hospitable. There are not words to explain the greatness that is the food. You can taste the care and love put into every dish. You should all try out this lovely place. But call early, they fill up fast!
disappointment – We were entertaining out-of-town visiters and went to Crush as it had high ratings. We found everything disappointing: food undercooked, dessert miniscule, service terrible, noisy, attitude. Yuk.
Rude Food – Everyone I have ever spoken with regarding this place has said that the everyone associated with it is rude. I agree. It's like they think that being tacky and rude is part of being upscale. Trying way too hard. Note to the owners: You are no better than anyone, you just make food, keep it in perspective.
Only the food, but my goodness, the food – Wow. My fiancee, a friend, and I walked into Crush knowing nothing about it, wearing casual street clothes. We were pretty upset with our treatment by the staff for what we considered the way we were dressed, but that feeling faded to the background once we tried to food. The wine list may be merely adequate and moderately priced, the service may be aweful (at least for those not dressed to the nines), and it may be a bit TOO hip and popular, but the food is divine. The Foie gras an... read more
Good things come to those who wait! – My Grandma always told me that good things come to those who wait.. and she was right on when it comes to my meal at Crush. Yes, I made reservations and Yes I had to wait 15 mins but everyone was plesant and nice even though they were busy busy busy. Once we wre seated the staff was attentive and the food and wine were top notch. 4 of us each had different starters, main courses and deserts and no one had any complaints. Go ahead and step out of your comfort zome and you will not be disa... read more
resting on their accolades? – we arrived early for our reservation, and were made to wait for a table for 20 minutes. the restaurant is very loud and cramped. we practically sat on the lap of the couple next to us. the acoustics were strange; we could hear the entire motley conversation of the kitchen, but couldn't hear each other. food was okay, but salty, salty, salty. the fish was overcooked, beans undercooked. we were very disappointed.
