Yeah – We waited a while to get a reservation, and it was worth the wait. The food is simply incredible. If you are used to restaurants like Bucco de Beppo and The Cheesecake Factory then the portions might feel small. But if you dine in restaurants of this caliber then you might be amazed at the size of the portions. Take the Foie Gras, which was out of this world, it was at least 3 ounces. Our Short Ribs, which were melting in your mouth good, are so generous I barely finished them. You must try this place. We will be back
Overpromised and underdelivered – After months of trying to get the coveted Saturday night reservation, we finally had the opportunity to try this highly rated restaurant. In a nutshell: It was good but not great, and definitely not worth the hype. The service was efficient but not warm/friendly, the presentation was lovely but the portions embarrassingly small. The tuna entree was the smallest piece of fish I've ever seen served, and it was tough and overcooked. Just not acceptable at ~$25/entree. The wine list has very few... read more
I have a Crush on Crush. Seattle needs more fun restaurants like Crush. Crush has a great atmosphere and great food. I love that people are over dressed (for Seattle), I love the loud music, I love that it's noisy, it's a busy restaurant! I've dined at Crush many times. With and with out reservations. The last time I had a reservation I waited for about 25 minutes for my table, I understand that sometimes diners at the table before me are going to take longer than expected. I happily waited with a cocktail in hand, people wa... read more
Great Food Poor Greeting – We tried Crush for the first time last night. We were 15 minutes late for our 6:30 reservation on a Tuesday (our fault, of course). We almost left because of the way the "greeting" was handled. We were told we could be seated but we would have to leave no later than 8:10. Ok, so we decided to rush through dinner. Two of us had duck. It was rare and extremely well cooked. The risotto was a bit overdone and not al dente. My tomato/shrimp/scallop salad was good but got mushy too quickly. We felt the f... read more
MIXED REVIEWS FOR A REASON – yes, I have read all the reviews and after a yr respite, decided to try Crush again. My last dinner was very disappointing. Things are not much better. And yes, I do get out alot--all over USA , international , roughly 150 dinners/yr. I dislike noise and even more so inept or attitudinal waitstaff, but that can be ameliorated by outstanding food. Will not happen here. Fish that was overdone and lamb that was way too salty are not signs of a consistent, well-drilled kitchen. I see no excuses for e... read more
Great experience – I've read most of the reviews here and think that either the wait staff is new or has undergone a massive attitude adjustment or . . . those who've complained don't get out much. Our server could not have been more pleasant -- same can be said the hostess. Parking isn't a problem, and for those who don't like the clean decor . . . there's always Applebees. Yes the room gets a little noisy and yes the portions are a bit small for the price. However the prices aren't out of line compared to comparable restau... read more
Pretentious but Delicious – While the setting was a bit pretentious (think cheesy L.A.), the food was very tasty. Everyone at the table was satisfied except for one minor detail: the knives. The steak knives there are inadequate and make for unpleasant wrestling with your meat, be it duck or pork chops. I would recommend this place if you'd like some great food and don't mind an ostentatious setting and self-important diners.
A good pick for foodies – As first time visitors to Seattle, Crush was recommended from a Seattle native. It's a great excursion from the downtown scene, set in a little house. The decor is inviting - like somebody had you over for dinner. We were seated promptly and had below average wine by the glass, but really enjoyed our dinners. My husband had the short ribs which were delicious, but very rich. I had the black bass which was pared with pork butt - strange combo but it worked! My only complaint was that my fish was too ... read more
Fall in love over dessert--or with dessert--at this cozy, glamorous spot on the edge of Madison Valley. – The Scene This labor of love shows an attention to detail that starts with the low lights and lavender plants lining the walkway. Once inside, the dark-wood floors and trim of a classic home combine beautifully with mod white seats and tabletops for an atmosphere that is both hip and comfortable. Tables are somewhat crowded together, but the staff uses its well-honed talents and humor to keep everyone blissfully happy. T... read more
