Crush Catering Rocks!! – Not only do I believe Crush to be the most amazing restaurant that Seattle has to offer, I recently discovered they ALSO have a private dining venue that they hold larger parites and cater at. I was planning an event for my pharmaceutical's company monthly speaker so I called my favorite restaurant, unfortunately couldn't get in there but was told of this other private dining venue. Right off the Mercer Street Exit, this space is just so beautiful for special events. Lit almost entirely by candleligh... read more
Absolutely most fantastic restaurant in Seattle! – There are so many reasons why CRUSH is fabulous. Let's start with the building. A sweet two story house that, although on the inside is filled with modern furniture that makes you feel like you are in New York, makes you have this sense that you are eating right in the coziness and comfort of your own home. The way that the owners have gutted this 100 year old home and made it into a restaurant is just beyond me. This gorgeous home is filled with two amazing qualities: incre... read more
don't waste your money – had heard great things, but everything was disappointing: the food, the decor, the service. food: the scallops were over-salted and the accompanying risotto was bland. what flavor there was did not work with the scallops. most disappointing: the warm chocolate cake with huckleberries (great combination by itself) sat in a foamy green paste (pistachio?). not appetizing. decor: poorly executed mod-meets-cozy. Panton S-chairs paired with square white tables against a dark and mismatched palette. additio... read more
Overrated – We went out to Crush with a friend based upon reviews we had read. We felt that it was overpriced and inflexible. For three of us, with one bottle of wine and one dessert it was $170. Not a total surprise, but not worth it. One of us can't have dairy, and most higher-end restaurants are very flexible about making changes, but our server said nothing could be changed. We wonder was it just the server, or the chef. They serve water from fancy looking bottles, but if you ask, it is just tap water. They say it is jus... read more
Small bistro, huge flavors – After hearing so many oohs and aahs about Crush, and so many reccomdations from trustworthy sources I was finally able to make it. I can't belive I waited so long! Amazing food, from apps and salads to entrees and dessert, what a meal. The short ribs were literally "unbelievable" and the lamb was perfectly seasoned and prepared. Service was excellent and also very genuine. I am going to make this place a habit.
Chef Jason Wilson should offer cooking classes, its the best food out there – I was in there in October for the first time, the food was amazing! I think crush will never stop pleaseing me, definitly the best (and cheapest) fine dining in Seattle. My wife saw Jason on Martha Stewart, and she supprised me with the reservation. If only he started a cooking class so we could learn how to make such amazing food. The service was great, as always. Its almost as though the servers are your good friends, they give you great advice o... read more
Amazing fine dinning experience – from the moment i walked into Crush i was impressed by the ambience and personality of it. I immedietly found parking right outside and was seated promptly. My service was impeccable, and the servers were very helpful. I had the slow braised short ribs, and my husband had the Foie. The portions were great, and the prices were great. We had a wonerfully romantic dinner
Let down – I expected the best given rave reviews. A $30 corkage fee was the first disappointment and dirty wine glasses didn't get things off to a good start. Service was very good and attentive. Clean glasses arrived promply after pointing out the wine residue in everyones glass. Not an extensive wine list but representative and reasonably priced. The standard for meat seems to be rare regardless how you order it. Creatively prepared but more effort seems to be put in the presentation than the preparation. Both the lamb an... read more
My mouth is still feeling the afterglow – This place was, quite frankly, flawless in every detail. From the drink selection to each and every dish served up to our party of six, the no attitude staff were prompt, offered good advice, mixed great martinis, and generally made us feel well cared for. Please, treat yourself and have their roaster pepper tart with Pistou. I've been working on recreating it at home. Yum!
