RecommendedI had my daughter on 6/11/2020 and I can not brag on the nursing staff enough. My labor and delivery nurse Kayla was amazing and my post partum nurses were amazing as well. Nursery staff was great as well. I loved the fact that everything was done in the room with us and that our baby never left our room for testing, bath, or anything. I also am SO happy that there was a lactation consultant available as there was not one when I delivered my first daughter. Julie was amazing and very helpful. This review is concerning the ER. My wife went in around 5 p.m. with severe abdominal pain. I was waiting in the parking lot, due to COVID, so I will try explain what my wife called "the worst experience of my life". She did have a long wait in the waiting room. I understand that. That's how it goes. But once she got in a room, her experience was horrible. First of all, screaming and crying in pain, but the staff treated her as if she came there only for pain meds! They will not bill my health insurance STILL after an accident that happened in SEPTEMBER OF LAST YEAR. I keep calling, they never have an answer. I also request a UB92 form every call so I can send it to my insurance and request they help pay the bill. Porter Regional REFUSES unless I pay the bill first. My ER experience was an absolute joke, and I was billed for things done without my consent and without explanation (post MVA, I was fully alert). the nurse was BEYOND rude! I didn’t even get her name but she was red headed, dismissing my symptom and becoming skeptical of what I was saying. A doctor, Dr. Cardenas I wasn’t comfortable with was gonna examine me, and I kept reminding them I just wanted to leave, I’m not feeling comfortable with a pelvic exam. The nurse literally told me to go back in the room when I wanted my discharge papers. They took a blood test unannounced, they just came in and did it, i was skeptical, but I went along with it.
