***DON'T BE FOOLED*** – Where Do I Begin? I think the ones on here who have given A+ reviews of this place are STAGED and must be part of the staff at Harwood 609. It cannot be real. I went to Harwood 609 Saturday, Nov 22, 2008 for the first time. This place has good intentions. The ambience is nice, the band was GREAT, Free Valet parking....but everything else was HORRIBLE!!! Great Place but Count your Money – I had the opportunity to visit Harwood 609 last Saturday November 3, 2008. I was blown away with this nice chic upscale bar as you know in recent years Dallas has no night life. The band was phenominal I don't even remember their names but they keep the bar jumping. Not bad for $5.00 – My review is from my Mailman. Seroiusly, he told me the other day that Harwood 609 was one of the best happy hour places he has been to. He said he got food and a drink for $5.00 and parking was free. Great looking place, bad food, charges to have dinner after 8:00pm – This is a place where you would expect to find the very best of service. Well, at first when you enter this very elegant place you go wow.......but after that, everything goes downhill. My girlfriend decided to have her birthday gathering there at Harwood 609 Jazz. The cost for just a small number of people was well over $300.00, she and her small number of guest was ask to pay an additional $12.00 door fee to attend her own birthday gathering. Telliing It Like It Is – I visited Harwood 609 based on comments from a good friend. The place is very nice and parking is good (free valet). The staff was okay, but the food wasn?t very good, it tasted really burnt. At a point in the night, I went to the ladies room, and while in the ladies room one of the staff came in, the staff person was in the ladies room for a very short period of time when the manager Carmen, I believe happen come in. Tried today, not bad – I went for happy hour... not bad :) I think this Jazz club may be getting their groove on. I will come back for dinner downtown, and hopefully catch an act with the Temptations n town. Keep up the great work Harwood 609, it will be worth the growing pains :)
Very Nice Place – It's about time a "CLASSY, ELEGANT, MATURE" club has opened up. I was extremely impressed with the atmosphere, the live JAZZ music and the food quality. However, as with everything, there is always room for improvement. The WINE list was not that great. I asked for a glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay, and the female bartender gave me the house white wine as if I wouldn't know the difference.
