I've had nothing but great experiences with Hanover. I've had to file two different claims over the last few years - one home, one auto - and in both cases, the adjusters I worked with were awesome. It didn't feel like they were trying to nickel and dime me and they really gave me the benefit of the doubt in some areas where coverage was questionable. Right there when someone ran into me, they handled everything very professionally and promptly. Couldn't ask for a better agency.
I had an audit to do repairs to my house. I understand that they need to get done but the Hanover insurance company only gave me 5 business days to get all the work done. Completely unreasonable. They were quick to take my money but not to give me time to get the work done

The guy that rear-ended me and totaled my vehicle had Hanover Insurance. My dealings with them have been terrible. They rarely answer the phone or respond to email. My accident occurred on Feb.28, today is May 1. Still no progress on paying the claim. A lot of blame shifting. Meanwhile, Ive been without a vehicle for weeks! Very unacceptable.
Terrible when you need them. Do not answer phone calls, ignore emails, and give you absolutely NO guidance when filing claims. I have spent more time on the phone with the other party's insurance company getting answers as to what paperwork they need from MY insurance than with my own insurance provider. So much of my time and energy expended making back and forth phone calls with ***** and my insurance, when they could just simply tell me everything I needed to get from the beginning. This company is absolutely horrible. They don't have a problem taking premiums for years but make a claim and they will deny it. My vehicle was involved in a hit and run, my truck was parked in front of my firehouse wasnt even in the vehicle. Driver fled the scene no insurance or anything, so I'm stuck with a 1000dollar deductible. No sympathy no nothing. Then I'm informed by the accident review team that " certain damages did not happen during the course of the hit and run" they judge this by looking at photos. Just another... read more
It seems like Hanover insurance is trying to put up roadblocks to keep customers, such as myself from taking advantage of the legislation that lowered auto insurance premiums. Last year they didn't even list the option to opt out of PIP coverage on the form they sent me, so I wouldn't have known that I could do this unless I was knowledgeable about the new law.
