I purchased a car from a dealership at the end of April. I used my Chase Visa Debit card for the $1500 down payment. One month later the dealership used my card to charge an additional $1000 on my card. I called right away to report fraud. I was told by the woman that I signed the contract and am liable for that. I have had my Platinum checking account since October 2010. I got married in 2017 and added my wife, whom also had a Platinum checking account because she was a prior employee. By adding her to my accounts, this made her eligible to keep platinum checking. This is because I have a Chase Ink business credit card and a Chase business classic checking account. Yesterday I went to a branch office ( ***** **** *** ****** ************ IN) to include my wife into my savings and checking account. The person that attend us was very disrespectful and i could say that he showed and express some racists comments against my wife. I have used many banks in my lifetime. Never, have I been so pleased with a bank! Not only has Chase caught fraudulent account activity on my account 3 time, they also went to bat for me against intelius.com Who just kept charging me month after month for service that was canceled the day after signing up for a trial. They are always professional and courteous at my local branch too. Thank you Chase for just being a stand up company for me.
I had more than enough balance at the end of the day to cover a check that cleared the following morning and instead of using the available balance from the morning they randomly used the available balance from the morning before. I was charged a $34 fee for this clerical error and instead of fixing the mistake they accused me of writing a bad check and said it was my fault. I have never felt so insulted or belittled in my life.
Chase freedom cards sucks. If you're thinking about getting one. I recommend you choose a different bank. What this card is doing is continuously robbing you of every nickle and dime they can. I went over everything for my understanding and use of the card and yet I'm being charged a monthly interest for a card I'm not using nor have in possession since it was destroyed. Today I went to the news agency and tried to make a deposit with a debit card from another bank type cash advance and both the cashier and the manager of the branch did not let me do it. They behaved very rudely to me and it did not interest them that a client of their bank could not make a simple deposit. It was already 5:56 pm and at 6pm they close. Chase failed miserably to protect our money and managed to blame us for their mistake. We placed a stop payment on a vendor that was in breech of contract. Evidently the stop payment wasn't processed correctly because Chase granted them access to withdraw over $900 from our account. As a small startup business every dollar counts and Chase is refusing to accept responsibility this unfortunate event. We are packing up our money and switching immediately. I am a young man with a CHASE Aarp card. DO NOT BUY THIS CARD! Buy the UBER BARCLAYS CARD INSTEAD. Multiple reasons: 1) Points are faster, almost immediate on the Chase card. 2) More cashback on restaurants. Travel too. 3) None of these cards have return/price protection benefits.
